I'm glad/. is finally showing a non-bias towards the candidates. Especially over such an important issue as this during a time of war, crappy economy, etc.
Where is the free world headed if we elect a man who can't keep track of baseball scores while trying to win an election?
It reminds me of a conversation I had with a relative (who married in fortunately)
A staunch Republican who informed me that he had no problem with me voting for Kerry if I chose to in Nov. b/c I'm well read on the issues and obviously see something in Kerry that would lead me to vote that way.
I said, "So you're saying only the uneducated and misinformed will blindly vote for Bush."
That pretty much ended our conversation on politics.
Now I'm not one of those guys with a stereo that rattles house windows, but at what point did you become your parent's generation? Instead of bitching about that damn rock music and the hippies, now we're bitchin' about hip hoppers.
It's a universal truth that the current generation will always irk the living shit out of the previous generation.
And unless you are independently wealthy it's probably not a good idea to piss off the current generation who will probably be funding ur pill program when you're 60+.
Whaaaat. I played Doom III when it was released on my Radeon 9600 256MB card with no problems. Ultra quality @ 1024x768, w/o AA and stuff which I really don't notice anyway b/c I'm too busy playing (and the game is too frickin dark.)
I didn't even know the 4.9 Catalyst drivers were out until 3 weeks ago
More like year. Nobody even knew this game was in production until E3 2003 and they bullshitted w/ a fall 2003 release date. Now it's 2004.
I dunno understand all the hubbub and bitchin' over this release date being pushed back. They only suggested it was gonna be released last year but it wasn't. Before last year this game wasn't even announced.
I know the perfect solution for this. There's a few companies that make them but these 2 have some nice products that will really fill the role nicely.
I'm trying to imagine Picasso doing that, but I'm having a hard time not imagining him having to pick up bits of himself here and there as he tries to find one of his paintings
Seeing as how it's already pre-sold 1 million(+?) copies I'm sure this will only be like the Eminem thing, where it's pirated but still sells a crap ton.
As has already been mentioned, you can't play on Live with a modded box, and even though there is XBConnect, I'm sure people will fork over the scratch for a legit copy. I've talked to 15-20 alone that have their money for Halo 2 and an Xbox Live kit burning a hole in their pocket.
I see your point and agree with you, but the argument could still be made that, while piracy is damaging to the RIAA (and the artists of course), medical information being broadcast to the wrong person is an invasion of privacy, or worse, could be used against that person to negative effect.
I personally figure, if someone wants to know I had my appendix out in 1994, or have allergies to dust mites and stupid people, big whoop.
Gamers are allergic to even simulated physical activity...
Seriously, sports fans have ESPN, Fox Sports Net, Speed Channel and even Outdoor Life for some thrilling trail walking escapades.
The reason Madden, etc. are so popular is b/c they're just pick-up and play when you got your friends around and there isn't a game on that you care about.
If I had mod points right now I'd be boosting this score up.
There's a reason why classic gaming is so highly regarded and fondly remembered by hardcore gamers and even the more casual type who had at least an NES.
Games were about puzzles and intuition. Now it's twitch skills and MMO's which you have to relinquish part of your life in order to justify the monthly fee.
Ironically the largest and most advertised technical achievement of video games is what, I think, is creating a stagnate market. 3D graphics launched video games into more homes than ever before thanks to proliferation of fast PC's and Sony Playstations.
The down side is that as graphics advance and everyone wants even more realism, it takes longer to make a game that isn't rife with bugs, which results in watered down games that only look prettier than what we played the previous year.
Unfortunately my Xbox functions, I just don't have anythin' all that fun to play on it.
The blurb says she's not ready to pooh pooh ON the current scam.
Which sounds more like she's not ready to shit on the system they're using now.
Pls add these to my original post

They've been trying to make a new Superman movie since the mid-late 90's. Kevin Smith even wrote a script for it.
Tim Burton was going to direct and wanted Nic Cage as Superman.
I don't think any superhero movie is trying to cash on on Spider-Man, but just trying to cash in period.

Let it go. You're not that important.
Spend 200 on an Xbox and a mod chip and stream ur files over ethernet or, with a 802.11(a/b/g) access point, over wifi.
Spend another 50-60 right now on a 80GB hdd and you can store them right on your Xbox.

I call em Stimutacs. They're mostly kelp
They'll make him feel like a koala bear crapped a rainbow in his brain!
So go on, "Eat some more pills, pillhead!"
Technology run amuck. It makes life easier until it makes us our slaves
But this thing just says "Crap-e" to me.

You don't need Live to play Xbox games online
I present to you XBConnect
I've been playing Halo 1 online before Halo PC was released.
I know the perfect solution for this. There's a few companies that make them but these 2 have some nice products that will really fill the role nicely.
Option 1
Option 2

I could be wrong
Centaur Rider: I can ride balanced on two wheels!
Segway Rider: So can I!
Duh
(I know they said they aren't planning on manufacturing it. It just seemed like a "Wtf" to me.)

An industry standard DRM would be great. Then I'd only have to download one circumvention device instead of multiply for different schemes.
Ubi should try diversifying their game selection in order to expand their audience instead of milking the Tom Clancy license.
Beyond Good & Evil and Prince of Persia are the only two Ubi games I've been interested in years.
THQ hasn't put out a game I've wanted to play since either the NES or SNES days I can't really remember.
