  1. Ahem on Kazaa/Altnet To Pay Users For Trading Content · · Score: 3, Funny

Yeah, so people get paid to host files that are legit and authorized...this is excellent! I have no fewer than 4 dusty old machines that want to be paid to distribute! With that said, my regularly used machine can continue sharing the 'fun' stuff.

Is the verification for the user sharing IP based? If so, I know for a fact that Verizon doles out IPs to anyone on a local network that wants one.

  2. While we're on the subject... on Yoda, Gollum Take MTV Awards · · Score: -1, Troll

Yoda has a lot more character depth and is simply more impressive than Gollum. Yoda is an ancient Jedi with an entire 'force' behind him that allows him to control his environment. This is why I named my cat Yoda. Gollum is just a greedy ugly troll after his preciousss. Big deal.

  3. Summer Reading on A Good Summer Read? · · Score: 2, Interesting

I recommend The Hobbit or anything else by J.R.R. Tolkien

Or if you have already read those too many times, try out The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis ... it was a great series.

  4. Not TOO bad. on Real Launches Music Download Service · · Score: 1

I decided to give the new Rhapsody trial a go just to 'see' how it is. I am honestly quite impressed. It does not have "feature creep" as almost all other versions of Real software have. I was quite surprised, the music collection size is quite staggering as well. They actually had almost all of the big name artists I searched for. Don't knock it til you try it.

  5. Haha! on Shadowbane Servers Hacked, Chaos Ensues · · Score: 3, Funny

Boy did I have a good laugh about the chaos going on in Shadowbane. The Matrix has them.

    Fear the machines!

  6. Isn't it obvious? on Delays and Problems for India's New CDMA Network · · Score: 1

  7. Cleanin? We don need no steenkin cleanin' on Spring Cleaning For Your Hard Drive · · Score: 1

I seriously have upgraded to a new hard drive each time I ran low on space. I have 280 gigs now. I have so much shi--stuff! Alas, I am too lazy to burn CDs so I am in a never-ending cycle of data collection.

Laziness is the bane of all that is good and pure!

    To infinity and beyoonnnnnnnd!

  9. Um, ok. on Canadian University to Begin Training Hackers · · Score: 1

Why not focus more on creating better programmers versus turning the the good ones to the dark side (of the language.)?

Virus writing was very easy last time I looked into how they were written and structured. What are the tools being used to create these 'viri'? My guess is Calgary has a site license for The Nowhere Man's Virus Creation Labratory software.

    So l33t.

  12. Lame. on Students Use 802.11g To Save Cable Industry · · Score: 3, Interesting

The PowerPoint presentation is amateur at best. I hope they had a lot to say when they actually presented it.

This is just a bunch of hoo-ha-hullably that will blow over much like Fiber to the door or Internet via power outlets.

Besides, how would this type of cable service be managed? Illegally reconnecting your wireless cable would really end up being illegal! This due to that fact that it would require 'hacking' and not simply reconnecting a coax cable.

  13. MS is not feeling threatened...yet. on Hacking the XBox · · Score: 1

The article stated that they do not yet feel threatened by the Xbox hacking. I think it is only a matter of time before they start cracking down. A 180.00 Xbox can be used as an 1,800.00 Media Center PC that Microsoft is currently trying to sell to consumers.

People have always wanted the most bang for their buck, and they always will. There is really nothing Microsoft can do about it either.

  15. Matrix Reloads and Dry Fires. on Matrix Reloads to $42.5 Million Opening · · Score: 5, Insightful

I don't know about everyone else but, Reloaded basically told everyone that the first movie was bullshit.

I was disappointed with the villain development (there wasn't any.)Some of the fight scenes were totally unecessary, especially the replication scene. Neo just supermans his ass out of there after exploiting all of the latest filming techniques.

Revolutions better fix things up or I'm going to be a very sad panda.

  16. Uh, nice proposal. on Creating Car Free Cities · · Score: 1

This kind of 'Utopian' society has very little chance of success. Why do people wake up and go to work every day? To make money.

What do people use this money for? Cars, houses and other luxuries. 1 million people in 100 square miles, that means at least 10,000 people every mile. Why even bother waking up, since the human traffic will be big enough.

Goodbye big luxurious houses and fast sportscars. Hello hell.
