"I guess there are legitimate uses for Mailing Lists, but just because there are a few people using it legitimitely (sp?)... doesn't mean it's not used to increase spam."
"I would guess the benefits an effective exo-skeleton could bring are in increased carrying capacity for the solider allowing them to carry more food, ammunition etc which would allow them to operate longer in the field with less reliance on supply lines."
Think this through... How much fuel would such a system need? How often do you think it would need to be repaired?
I highly doubt such a system would reduce a soldiers reliance on supply lines.
If you screw up you can request a new ballot. If someone or something else screws up after you've submitted your vote there is no recourse. Most of the cases you mention could be prevented by the voters themselves.
If I fail to be clear or follow directions then it is my own damn fault. I have plenty of power over what leaves my hands.
The Athlon has been AMD's redemption, but IMO they are still trying to recover from the K5 and K6 days. They seriously damaged their reputation by claiming that those processors were far better than they were. The PR system is the best example of what AMD did wrong.
Something I've learned as a sysadmin: developers will ignore RFCs, common sense, and best practices if they feel they can get away with it.
Non RFC compliant email servers make Greylisting a real PITA. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that there are some legitimate multithreaded systems out there.
When do people learn that we do not need spam stallers.
Listen dude, you obviously have little experience with spam fighting. Tarpiting (or stalling as you refer to it) is ineffective against modern spammers.
Modern spamming software is highly multithreaded and will continue sending thousands of emails even if it's being actively tarpitted by several servers.
" Driving 50 in the first case may be suicide, yet it is legal.
No, it isn't. Posted speed limits are considered the maximum legal speed only for clear driving conditions. The police may still ticket you for driving at unsafe speeds based on wether, road condition, etc.
Compare it to a movie or a CD at $25 and $19 respectively. A movie contains 2 hours of content and a cd a little over 60 minutes. Comparatively, the 5+ hours of content provided by a new video game is relatively inexpensive.

It's more like this mini conversion than you might imagine.
"For me as a developer, I find I am much more productive under Mac OS X."
Me too. I find that on the Mac, I am far less destracted by games.

I do not have much power over diebold.
I think you'll find that all the bugs you listed are caused by voter error.
I don't know about you, but I'd much prefer to make (and be able to correct) my own mistakes than to loose my vote because someone else fucked up.
I'm sorry... Did you really intend to liken P2P filesharing and Terrorism?

You are wrong.
I'd like to see some evidence of where you say their PR ratings didn't live up to expectations.
You must be too young to remember the K5.
Ever seen a FPSer go batshit over Latency?

Sounds like a great way to block legitimate email. : \
We use some sendmail throttling to reduce our load.
Dude... David F. Skoll is the author of MIMEDefang and CanIT Pro. The dude is huge in the spamfighting business. He knows what he's talking about.
