    Electric door strikes open only when power is applied to them , meaning when there is no power you can still open the lock with a key.
    Not always the case.
    Depends on if the locks a re fail safe or fail secure. Some Fire Regs in some states require locks that unlock by dropping power to the lock (depending on application).
    Most locks allow a key override though, as you stated...

    magine connecting the nontech-based paint job to the vehicle's speedometer. As the vehicle moves, the camo pattern could scroll at the same speed in the opposite direction. In the proper environment, this could make the vehicle difficult to spot when moving, since the observer's eyes would be presented with data not normally present in nature.

    Screw that, make my car jet black and as i speed up, make all the leading edges start to glow like an SR71 plane (or shuttle on re-entry).....

    How cool would that be????

    I've recently had a reason to look up the murder rates of the US and Australia. Last monday there was a shooting at where I work. 2 people were killed, and it reached the international news. This is a big deal here, and there are local calls to ban ALL handguns because of this.

    Dude, people shoudln't have to deal with what you Monash guys have just gone thru.
    All of us in tassie send our best. Hopefully all goes back to normal for you guys soon.
    As we know, it can take a while....
