I would venture to say that you have not used a Wii Fit yet if you're saying it's not a workout. I train and run marathons, and yesterday I decided to try out my Wii Fit in lieu of a cross training workout. The strength and yoga portions are not easy, for sure, and definitely gave me a really good core workout.
My point is, instead of telling the government to 'ban HFCS instead of making the people spend more money', what about educating the people and letting them take some responsibility for their actions?
In the above statement, replace "HFCS" with "nicotine" or "crack." Why does anyone do anything when they know it's bad for them?
I have not seen any mention of the fact that this is a rebadged WNC GW1 and that you can already import it as the Qtopia twin for around $250 unlocked.
Notice on the tech specs page for the MacBook Pro http://www.apple.com/macbookpro/whatsinside.html no mention of battery life? Does this mean the battery life on the MacBook is poor, since they tout it on iBook & PowerBook tech specs?
Disclaimer: I did not RTFA. I did get hypnotized back in August for smoking cessation purposes. Was a 1-2 pack a day smoker for about 10 years. Tried the patch (didnt work), the gum (tasted like crap), wellbutrin (gave me hives and made me not care about anything). Finally I tried hypnosys. Granted, I went into it believing it was going to work, and it did. Two 40 minute sessions later and I havent had a smoke and best of all, I wasnt irritable at all.
These aren't meant to compete with the mac mini or any small form factor systems. They're for underdeveloped nations and the such, and you cant install software on them. It's mainly only for internet connectivity, hence the name, "Personal Internet Communicator." AMD donated 200 of these to Katrina shelters around Texas so that evacuees had a way of accessing the internet to find lost family members and such. You can read more about the Personal Internet Communicator and the AMD 50x15 program here.
Sorry buddy, but apparently you did not RTFA. From TFA:
"And with touch-sensitive technology concealed under the seamless top shell, you get the programability of a four-button mouse in a single-button design. Click, roll, squeeze and scroll."
It's been so long since I finished Farscape that I don't even remember half the characters- the crew of Moya & Scorpie obviously, but who's the big blue baddie, and the lady dressed in all black?
They want an affordable digital alternative to a walkman, that doesn't skip when they're jogging. They don't care if it can store 2 jillion hours of music. They just want their favorite workout tunes on it, or something to listen to riding the bus, etc.
I have an Ipod Mini- doesen't skip while I'm jogging (and I've taken it on a 50 minute run many times). Even though it has a 4 GB capacity, I only store around 400 MB of music on it, because that's all I care to listen to.
But why would I spend $220 on that 512 MB flash based player when the 4GB ipod mini is only $30 more?
If they released an iPod that was under 100 bucks, that had say 64-256megs of flash, it'd sell like hotcakes and they'd increase the amount of iTunes customers 10 fold.
Nope. The point of iTMS is to get people to buy the iPod, not the other way around.
Ephpod is cool, but in order to get music off my iPod, just go into iTunes and say "Add folder to library" while "Copy files to iTunes Music Folder when adding to library" is checked. Then you select whichever drive your iPod is mounted as, and it will copy all the unique files off the iPod and into your library. It skips files that are already in the library, which is nice. And, if your files are tagged properly, iTunes will organize them all nice and neat for you.

I see many people on/. are crying out for the elegant light saber battles in the vein of the OT. However, intensely choreographed, wildy implausible scenes can still be incredible- if done correctly. Case in point: the Clone Wars Micro Series. Anakin's battle with the dark jedi chick in the treetops of Yavin was just damn cool. Cooler than anything I've seen in Ep 1 or Ep 2. Mace Windu vs. the Droid armies was incredible. Come to think of it, can they get Tartakovsky to direct Ep 3?
When a friend or family memeber comes to me for tech support, I listen to the problem (one time, and I shit you not, my sister thought her computer was broken because the top of the minesweeper window that she opened was off the desktop, so she could not close it. She thought it was because she had bought an AMD Athlon instead of an Intel Celery.), assume a grave expression, and tell them that their computer is hosed and they need to buy a new one.
This nets you the ability to play progressive scan DVDs,
The Xbox can do this easily. There is a one bit flag in the dvd player executable that turns it to progressive.
a remote that can power on and eject the drive on your media device
You can power off (or reset) the xbox via remote thru XBMC also. And eject implies that you'll have to get up and switch/insert discs anyways, so why do you need it on your remote?
the ability to play back MP3, OGG Vorbis, OGM, DivX (3.11, 4.x, 5.x), AC3 audio, JPEG, PNG, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4
so XBMC can play all that, and more. XVID, QT5, AAC, etc. etc. ad nauseum. Did you even RTFA?
The total cost for this is way less than your Xbox
Wrong. I bought a new xbox ($150), modded it with a homemade cheapmod ($7.50) and simply use the stock hard drive since I stream all my media from my fileserver anyways, thru Samba. I bought a cheap 3rd party remote, ($15) which brings my total to $172.50. Oh, and a simple switch to turn off the mod chip, and I play xbox live games till the cows come home.
I don't know why you'd go to the hassle of an Xbox that doesn't let you completely control every by IR remote, and also requires you mod it.
I dont know why you think this- I can do everything I need thru the xbox remote.
Even at 5V these volcanos have a very annoying buzz. And they dont cool very well. A much better quiet CPU cooling solution is a Thermalright heatsink with an 80mm Panaflo L1A or Papst fan attached.
Did you know that aprox 60% of women wear jeans and trousers that are too small for them?
Did you know 86% of all quoted statistical figures are made up?

The USB spec only allows for 500mW peak power from any devices, so unless your devices are out of spec, 2.5 watts should easily support four devices.
I would like it to be a $40 replacement part, not something that I need a screwdriver for, or (even worse) mail my machine back to Apple.
OEM Macbook replacement batteries cost $200.

I read Discover magazine- has great little interesting articles of a scientific nature.
Also, Card Player magazine- a must read for any poker enthusiasts.
