Since I'm running low on CD-Rs, and I wanted to install Mandrake tonight, can anyone tell me what changes there have been between rc3 and the final release?
Actually, I just clicked the link on multiple unpatched machines running OS X 10.2.1. The machine tried telneting to ls -la, to no effect. However, after giving it a good look, this is only because your link does not include the pipe. This is a pretty dangerous exploit, and could easily be changed to rm -rf * rather than a simple ls.
It's a damned good thing that Apple is so quick on the draw with security fixes...

Almost everyone I see who has this opinion was never a very good magic player.
True Story: A friend of mine had a dream deck. He saved up so that he could spend almost $500 in order to get all of the rares for this deck, including some cards that weren't even legal anymore, such as some Arabian nights.
He came to my house, and I didn't have any decks built. In about 20 minutes, and using a grand total of one rare card worth about five bucks, I built a tournament legal deck that beat him ten games in a row, six with his new deck, and four with an older deck he'd built.
This friend had a deck published in the Duelist, so it's not like he didn't know what he was doing... but it proves that it's quite possible to be a dominating Magic player with less than $20.
Just another example of the short-sighted nature of the Bush administration. After all, LLNL are already working on things like Anthrax Detection and other Bioterrorist agents.
I doubt that anything organized under Tom Ridge is going to be nearly as effective in bringing advances in the realms of fighting terrorists, let alone helping to make the advances that LLNL have brought to all of science.

Go ahead, turn this into a jingoistic thread about how much you love your country, and you have all of the popular entertainment. You're still a jack-ass, and you're still off topic.
Out of curiousity, do you consider it (almost) UNIX, or something that your mom could (almost) use? I couldn't tell where that (almost) was supposed to go...
It was poorly phrased. I think he meant to say that, if you are using closed source software, others cannot sell your software, whereas people can do this with OSS.
My wife was diagnosed with a "Chemical Imbalance". The only way for her to be "better" was to take medication.
She decided that she hated the way that the medication made her feel, and she decided she was going to seriously stop. She started eating better, exercising, and getting rid of her inner demons through serious talks. She went through therapy, and she came out of it with the chemical imbalance cured. All tests came out perfectly normal. It baffled the doctors, because western medicine doesn't teach that the body and mind can heal themselves.
Try learning a bit about holistic medicine. Your patients will thank you.
This sort of thing happens every April 1st... That's why those of us who really know how to prank should just back off and let the amateurs play through.
Most of the time, I'm against representatives doing things like this, but I think he's one of the rare few who can claim he's representing his constituents...

Well, since it's brand new pre-release software, it probably hasn't been tested under WINE... Did you want to give it a shot, and let us know?
Why? There is no real issue; the states have a right to proceed as written in statute.
Well, a signifigant number of cases have been dealt with which were opposing existing laws, such as Pleshy v. Ferguson, or Brown v. Board of Education.
Have no doubt, MSFT will push as hard as they can to erode the ability of states to harm them.
Because, as it was pointed out, it would take a signifigant amount of work to get QuickTime ported to Linux, just as it took a long time for Windows.
However, as much as it would be nice to do, there isn't enough marketshare to justify the price of development. Much as we would like it to be so, companies cannot sink very much money into Linux, especially since the Linux community is not very famous for paying for their software, and they would probably sell close to/no/ copies of QuickTime Pro.
Thanks! You're still wrong about the Rams this Sunday, though. Heh.

What, your dictionary doesn't recognize Canada as a proper noun?

Two things.

I love the underpants gnomes, and you have the best troll nick I've ever seen. I had to stare at it for 3 minutes to figure out your username.
Of course, I'm high as fuck, and that's probably why I'm bugging you on

Maybe.
Oh, please.

Beats me. I wouldn't touch that OS with a 10' pole.
Personally, I'd just delete the file for the VR software. That'd take care of it.
