I just read a post from a guy that is designing a 2D side-scrolling mod for UT2003. He's now looking for people to help design maps. There's a basic screenshot there. Another post there pointed to an interesting game called Soldat. From the site: "Soldat is a unique side-view multiplayer action game. It takes the best from games like Liero, Worms, Quake and Counter-Strike and gives you fast action gameplay with tons of blood and flesh. Soldiers fight against each other on 2D battle arenas using a deadly military arsenal. This is why multiplayer was invented."

Especially since it is so obvious that one lowly PR person can't just start a whole missinformation campaign on their own. From observing marketing work where I work, I know that in advertising contracts are signed, legal has to sign off, and management has to sign off.

They're just lucky that AP didn't also stress some of the other things found by other people here like how the Word doc was done on a Mac, how the Word doc invaded privacy and how they were going to get her to try Pocket PC, but she was already a professional consultant on them.

Two things in this study did strike me as amazing though. One is that the connection has lasted a year. I remember when they first started this the neural connection didn't last long. At the bottom it also says "This website IS NOT affiliated with the Official Firefly Site, Mutant Enemy, Inc., or 20th Century Fox."

Also, it states that the site took 40 hours to develop. So in 40 hours he developed a site with full chat, community, logins, dynamic news, dynamic episode guide, and a full database of character and episode info and the whole thing is blazingly fast while being slashdotted. I'm impressed.

It is. I've *ahem* watched people play the full version v927 with about 40 incredible maps.

Having only one model and a few maps for each game type makes sense for download speeds, but it is going to get boring fast. I hope they don't delay the full version as long as they delayed the demo.
