As for their PCs, well I build my own and my recent laptop was not a dell? Why not? Simple - I got one of those super stupid open-box but new in box machines from Best Buy when Vista rolled out simple because it wasn't pre-loaded with Visat (1999 original P105-9722 for 1299 with $200GC on top and free Vista Business Upgrade - go figure)

I do believe DFS is actually handled by a real bank, at least at the time I opened my account with Dell the information was picked up by an organization that wasn't named Dell nor based where they were, could be a front.

This opens up more than manipulation to the masses, it introduces who new methods of using technology to them and that is what I enjoy most about it. I look forward to games on it :) Nothing would be difficult to pop a keyboard onto the screen for typing, reszing it to you needs, hell even moving keys where you want them.

All using Windows (one heretic uses a MAC - but she is a California girl so we let her). Kids, they want games, games run under Windows. Who cares if WINE can make their game run, thats one EXTRA step they aren't going to take.

So, basically unless Linux runs windows software seemlessly and comes preinstalled it ain't going to make a dent. People run Windows because it works. Regardless of the FUD you hear here it does what people need it to do. People don't care what makes it run, just that it does. If a virus takes them down they get their friends to fix it or some store.

Really, why would you expect them to take the extra STEPS to change something that is adequate for their need? what does Linux do that Windows can't? (and don't go on about security - they don't care)

Funny how the environmentalists of California cannot agree with Europes on this. Because we had higher sulfur diesel fuel there wasn't a way to have cleaner engines here. Because we didn't sell diesels in volume there wasn't incentive in making cleaner fuel. The old chicken and egg.

I would love a diesel powered version of my vehicle (Murano). If I could find a nice diesel convertible I would probably take the loss in trade and get one. I want the option but the varying laws across the country mean I am stuck with whatever will sell in the 48 states.
