...network administrator...the policy stands unbreakable, period. There is no compromise.....
the user's needs are seen to
You say the security policy is unbreakable but your let users touch the network. You my friend live on the EDGE! There's no way I'm letting actual users get anywhere near my secure network.
I would like dual sims as well but for now here is what I do. I forwarded my personal phone to my business phone and get all calls on one phone. Haven't turned my personal phone on in over a year. Of course if you don't have a large bucket -o- minutes or your boss is a jerk about personal calls on the company phone then your screwed.
Gimme a cell phone jammer so I can use it while driving. That way assholes around me will get off their phones and pay attention to the road.
You, kind sir, are an optimist. Given your scenario I would break it down thusly:
1) 50% (the xx variety) will just keep yappin because they never stop talking long enough to realize the call dropped. 2) 20% will wildly shake their communication device in an attempt "squeeze" out more signal. 3) 15% will beat the device within an inch of it's life swerving across lanes while beating their head against the steering wheel. (It's not so bad since I got that leather wrapped steering wheel) 4) 10% miscellaneous teeth grinding, nail biting, anxiety driven rage, etc., etc. 5) 5% will actually put their phones down and begin to drive.
As well as Windows 1.0...and yes, I have a copy on my five and a quarter floppy! It's right next to my stack of about 30 3.5 install disks for OS/2 2.0.
Gotta love CGA!!!.....or was it EGA......I forget.
Thank you. I did a double take myself until I goggled it. It's frustrating when posters assume new technology is automatically known by everyone. Don't they know the tinfoil impedes our clairvoyance abilities?
If ever a comment needed to be AC'ed it was this one. You'll probably be getting a knock at the door any moment now.
I went on a cruise last year and the day we were to disembark we had to stay in our rooms an hour while the police with drug sniffing dogs arrested several passengers for drug possession.
My nightmare is having an electric car during and evacuation for a hurricane.
You're obviously referring to Hurricane Rita which was an extreme case caused by lack of infrastructure and mass hysteria of people still reeling from Katrina weeks earlier. The infrastructure problem has been and continues to be addressed and except for a few hundred idiots who decided to ride out Ike in Galveston the evacuation went rather smoothly. Of course looking at your argument from another angle having an electric vehicle in said traffic could be better if they can get PV efficiencies up past 50%. Just pop a PV on your roof and hood and keep on truckin.
look at Houston, there are STILL areas there without power
That's Funny. Centerpoint Energy says the entire grid is back up. Although there are specific sites still without power because of extenuating circumstances. If you meant Galveston, Bolivar Peninsula, or Crystal Beach (not considered Houston area)then yeah it's kinda hard to get power to homes that no longer exist. Although they have enough power to have a Wedding/Brawl and a Biker Rally so things are looking up!
Shouldn't the summary be LOTUS NOTES? IBM does have other software under the LOTUS brand. And while I agree that the UI on NOTES leaves much to be desired the actual NOTES application (it's more an Access/SQL competitor than an Outlook/Exchange one) is incredible in its versatility and adaptability. And while we don't here about NOTES much in the media there are still thousands of companies who swear by it. For them this means the iPhone is now a possible alternative for their corporate environments. I'd say that was a good thing for Apple.
We buy MACs as conversation starters, PCs because we are depressed and dont like ourselves, and are gluttons for punishment.
Not even close. MAC owners want to be seen as trendy and superior to "the masses" while PC owners want to own a MAC but their logic circuit won't let them pay that much for the privilege.
What makes musicians so special and whiney? It is a hobby, albeit an expensive one, that if you are really really good at, you can get paid to do.
What makes musicians so special and whiny? It is a hobby, albeit an expensive one, that if you are a really really good entertainer , you can get paid to do.
Fixed that for you.
And just to play devil's advocate what potentially high paying profession doesn't have a high cost of entry? Doctor, Lawyer, Engineer, et al all pay a high premium for their education and arguably work harder and are more disciplined than the majority of musicians. The bulk of musicians are musicians because they wanted fame, fortune, women, etc. without having to work for it. I'm not talking about the few dedicated dyed in the wool musicians who love their craft and would do it even if they couldn't make a living off of it but they are, in fact, the minority.
I really would love to see a diesel hybrid. That thing would blow the doors off of the crappy gasoline hybrids that are around now. Cleaner exhaust, better fuel mileage, longer life.
" The XR3 is a "plug-in hybrid." This makes it possible to drive on battery power alone on trips of about 40 miles. And when both the diesel and the battery-electric systems are used together, and the car is driven conservatively, fuel economy increases to over 200-mpg. Fuel economy is about 125-mpg on diesel power alone. "
This is hilarious and yet I feel the same as AC. I'm so conflicted.
"How are they to prove that you weren't in an area with bad reception?"
If it's my boss, easy. He knows we have a Femtocell on site :(
I keep getting Windows cannot find 'rm' when I type that in. Am I doing it wrong?
what the hell. I had karma to burn.

There, fixed that for you.

the judge should have thrown the case out because it's a piece of shit (or whatever the legal term is).
I believe the legal term is P.O.S.
you mean the DNA of these guys?
You forgot Windows 2.1

They'll need it since they just got a swift kick in the a@@

do you not consider Quebec to be part of Canada?
Hell Quebec doesn't consider itself part of Canada so why should I?
I'm allergic to reading you insensitive clod!

Just make sure the online activities are legal and according to company policies (no porn or hate sites, for example).
I wonder what Hugh Hefner's company policies look like?

Nah, they just built the first one people actually use.
Nah, App Tapp Install did that.
I agree. Why look what this guy was able to do with just a little ingenuity and some petty larceny.
WOW! (the word not the game) them EverQuest 2 players must be downright geriatric. All of the WoW (the game not the word) players I know are over 30.
