  1. Re:Overpromising lifespan on The Light Bulb That Can Change the World · · Score: 1

Not to point out the obvious here but:

If your lightbulbs are not lasting 6 months, there is something other than the bulbs wrong.

Perhaps your wiring is not de-energizing the bulb's base (neutral switched instead of main?)

You may want to have that looked at.

I just replaced my very first CF this week. Was in my bathroom for 4 years+

    May be worth checking out.

Well that's actually a great question for the legal types (you know them they preface everything with IANAL).

If it were a criminal case (as I understand US law) you SHOULDN'T have to prove it was someone else, just introduce the reasonable doubt that it was actually you. A dynamically assigned address and an open wifi introduce a lot of doubt.

It's up to them to prove you did it.
This unfortunately isn't a criminal case (yet!).

    It's decrease.

Diesel engines have VERY high compression (ever hear a jack brake on a truck?) (in the 14-18 :1 and higher range If I am not mistaken)

Gasoline (and alcohol) explode (detonate) unpredictably at these compression levels (engine knock)

Remember there is no spark introduced in a diesel, it's the compression that ignites the fuel/air mixture.

Today's (low octane, no lead) pump gasoline will start to detonate at around 9.5:1 compression in reasonable ambient temperatures.

Very scary indeed. I'm just waiting until US authorities start arresting people who run sites in foreign countries because they accepted logins from Americans."

Like say, for example, Marc Emery from www.cannabisculture.com (Canada)? (Arrested for selling seeds (legal in Canada) to Americans by mail. (facing possibly life in prison for weed seeds)

Wouldn't dns round-robin (and the distributed nature of dns in general) make the prediction of the order of hosts problematic?

Or would it be a matter of one server telling the next in order (no matter the starting point) to expect the spambot that just tried?
