the key point is that the machine this guy is attempting to fix is attacking his network, possibly causing him loss of business...I don't necessarily agree with it, but to play devil's advocate, if the bully takes your lunch money every day, and no one will help you do anything about it, maybe it's time you popped him one.

How many people didn't read any of the links and went straight for the java pool game???
Keep in mind Rollins is well over 6 foot and Danzig is pushing 5 and a half. It wouldn't be fair really. If you had thought about this thoroughly enough, you would come to the obvious conclusion just as I did. Before the fight would even start, Peter Steele of Type-O-Negative would have beaten both of them to a bloody pulp! That guy is a BEAST.
First, it's Americans!!! Second, the only time we use the metric system at all is for drugs, and that's just weight measurment. This whole length thing is confusing...
I'm not sure how they are expecting to justify $30 for this product. The review states something about "making the networking easier". I didn't realize this was a problem in linux.? Maybe the wallpaper, icons and docs I could see, but I think the price is a little bit too much for the services rendered. The review looks like it's trying to sell the product rather than tell me why it's something I need to have.
The first question that comes to mind is: can you update the current cube with the new board? The more upgrading and tinkering you can do to a gcube, the better chance it has in competing with xbox and p2. I'm not sure how much farther it's game titles can carry it...
That's a really good point, however I must stress that when dealing with customers, (at least the ones i've dealt with) that it definitely matters. Most resellers and larger companies only deal with certified software for customers. While the "Sun Approved" stamp doesn't mean much to you or I, it does to that big corporation that has a lot invested in Sun products. From the POV of a large company, knowing that some software is going to be compatible with your large investment gives both a sense of union and a place to turn to in case something goes wrong. Usually this same thing holds true for hardware vendors...
This definitely wont be an issue for me. I seem to like original controllers with any game unit anyway. However...I think one of the most promising features about the xbox as of now, is it's potential to be modded and i'm sure it won't be long before little things like this are overcome.
I'd have a hard time justifying $150 to recharge a battery with manual labor, when a spare battery can be bought for most devices for a lot less. (especially a cell phone, etc)
Besides, if i'm away from a power outlet of some sort for THAT long of a time, a nice break from the electronics is appreciated.
I had problems with a 17 inch monitor that i use for work. Dell sends refurbs for warranty replacements. After the _5th_ time, and a bunch of complaining, i got them to replace (over 1 year after i bought it) the 17 inch with a brand new 19 inch of MUCH better quality.
Like most of us, I sometimes wonder if Katz's articles shouldn't just be modded "0, Troll" and ignored.
Apparently it's getting cooler by the day to keep trashing Katz posts. You have the option to NOT read his articles, and you can even configure your/. account that way. Get off the band wagon. If you don't like the post, say so with facts, not by attacking the author's name in your reply.
Nonetheless, to feel the need to criticize the man for doing his job is the mark of a small man indeed.
Didn't you just do the EXACT same thing by criticizing Katz for doing his job?? While I don't agree with everything he says, He makes valid points and I enjoy his articles. I'd like to hear your responses and replies to his post. I don't give a rat's ass if you like him or his articles.

Give the US more credit. Sounds like you are describing a revenge response by the US that involves killing innocent civilians in hopes that we weed out the bad seeds. We're smarter than that. Any revenge sequence should be slow and methodical: Surgically and carefully executed. Reminder that you don't have to kill to get revenge.
I can think of a million other uses for something cool like that: monitoring heavy traffic, flying inside storms, aircraft radar testing (like testing for wind shearing).
Anyone know how big it is, what it takes to fly it, or what else they plan on using it for besides natural disaster surveillance?
cmon it's a huge pain to search the web for a windows cd key when you reformat cause you got h4x0r0ed and need to check outlook express & play solitare

people ride roller coasters to begin with? I ride to die. The fact that i don't die with every ride is the only dissappointment.

bad idea. now they're going to build something and break out.
