Other brilliant arguments are that Coke dissolves rust. Well actually the phosphates in Coke form a soluble compound with iron and wash the rust away... no acidic action required.

Readers may, like me, start skipping over the parts of the book where Sacks starts wandering away from science and into personal topics. Do we really need to know how his first orgasm came about?

The RT314 is bullet-proof. My favourite feature is that my PCs need to be given one IP address (and I think a gateway IP) and that's it. The Linksys BEFSR11 I use at work (very small LAN) seems to require that I hardcode the ISPs DNS addresses on each PC.

This is a PITA as our ISP changes DNS IPs about once a year. This week I had to do the 25 minute drive from my office to the other office to change the IPs again.

I travel the 20+ minutes to the office and discover that someone unplugged the router. So... I plug it in, reboot and ask the manager to tell the staff to not touch anything.

A week later the "email" is down again. This time I'm smart and ask them to check first... yup, unplugged router.

It turns out that one of the daytime staff (who also cleans for us after hours) was not only unplugging the router but plugging her EMF spewing vacuum cleaner into the same power bar as the router.
