i play ONLY to escape, nothing else. If i want competition, i'll save my energy for the workplace where my efforts will acquire me something tangible.
this doesn't make sense to kids yet, which is probably why they love the live crap. they think their competitions achieve something, and they do, higher profits for 'the man'.
i don't rent dvd's anymore, whether offline or online, all the movies that get released are pretty much crap these days, it takes almost a miracle to even get us to waste money on a theater.
i bought access to the site a long time ago, my goal was not the XGA projector, as my goal was for gaming, XGA gaming is a waste of time to me. The custom lenses that Lumenlab is finishing the production on will allow me to use 1280x1024 for my projector.
now you tell me where i can get an SXGA projector for under 1k, WITH a bulb that will last me longer then a few months (of serious usage), and i'll go buy it.
granted, this is not for those with no thumbs, as you do have to build it yourself, so if you lack the patience, then obviously you'll have to pay the big bucks to get a retail unit.
then i might cosider buying one, until then, why would people want to waste the time with having multiple mp3 players around? unless you're such a 'fan' of mp3's that you don't need more then 4gig for your 'collection'?
i even starting caring about the 'regular' ipod when they hig 60gig, was hoping for a 100gig before i bit. oh well.
your calculations don't take into account that "back then" technology costs (in fabrication) were generally higher then they are now.
besides, the 'wow' factor of owning one of the first home consoles was 'worth' much more back then then buying just another console today with more rehashed games.
...anyone with enough time on their hands to do this kind of an analogy obviously doesn't do enough of either (gaming or cunningulus), and just spends too much time thinking about both, while doing something 'else'.

somehow i think W brothers have more talent then any of the wannabe lards out there who couldn't even produce a jerk off documentary.
whatever they charge they better release MORE good games for it...
all these years that the xbox/ps2/gc have been out and i've only found myself wanting to play 3 of the games??? (all on xbox)... hardly a reason to pay even a $100 for any of the consoles right now, i doubt the 'future' will be any more 'interesting', for me. maybe the next round the consoles will overwhelm the pc, but for now, i'll put up my pc against what any console can offer.
that fact alone (that they're from the EARLIER days of blizzard - when blizzard actually put out quality) is a bright beacon of hope in my book.
the beta weekends have been nice, and the ability to play 'singleplayer' (with the ability to hire npc 'hirelings' for aid if you want) through this game is awesome.
you can completely ignore the MMORPG/PVP aspect of this game.

if you continue supporting (financially) the idiots at ebgames/gamestop they'll continue being the losers that they are, and milking all the kids of their lunch money.
i would love it if they released a singleplayer version of the game for the rest of us to enjoy:) with perhaps limited lan capabilites for those that want it. i would love to explore all of EQ by myself:)
...look at previous work, but more importantly, contact the people that the work was done FOR. ask them their opinons of the other company and the results/process, just because it looks sexy doesn't mean it didn't cost 5 times more then promised or took twice as long or a myriad of other 'gotchas'.
in any case, they will ALL give you that figurative BJ while they're courting you(r money), but what happens AFTER you sign the line is where they all become a different company...hence, contact previous employers of theirs.

i'll pay top dollar for intelligent games/designs, but anythign these guys put out will have to go through by A/B filter above first.
so am not surprised that they made the second one even more so.
i guess i'm just old school and consider rpg's only to be based on knights and dragons/orcs and crap like that.
SW is only good for FPS material. or RTS.
