So much to love here. Burgers at Casino el Camino, The Flametrick Subs at Beerland every month, SXSW, no dress code ANYWHERE, migas for breakfast, Honky, Grady, The Elephant Room, The Continental Club, hell I could go on forever.
Nothing like supporting a bunch of terrorists. Next I guess it'll be the wacky hijinx of al quida that we'll be commenting on. Really Hemos, bad form for posting this.
In other news, I think the Salt & Pepper squid from T&S Seafood sounds good for lunch today...
I've had a tivo since shortly after they launched their service. I've been a beta tester for them on several occasions. I've sold many friends on the product, but no more. I'm closing my account as I type this. Go fuck yourself Tivo.
As an Austinite all I can say is LONG LIVE THE DRAFTHOUSE. You don't know what cool is until you're watching the latest movie with a pint of Guinness and a plate of REALLY good food. That or their annual showing of The Big Lebowski at a local bowling alley with a free white russian with every ticket.
Living in Texas I've known several people over the years that have known Mr. Cuban. No matter which one you talk to they all say the same thing. He's a realy down to earth guy that hasn't let all the money and power get to him. It seems that if he sees something he likes, he makes it succeed, AND still manages to make money off of it too. So rock on Mark, because you're doing one hell of a job.
I never really said that games geared for the older demographics = games with lots of T&A and violence. Hell I still play a ton of games on my NES/SNES emulator and that's from from violent. I'm just saying that of the games I find to be most enjoyable very few of them are exclusive to the Gamecube. My other main gripe with the GC is the lack of good online play, as I find more and more of my gaming time is spent on X-Box Live games.
But then to each his own, and choice is a good thing, so long live Nintendo if their business model is working for them.
I agree with you on the point of gameplay. There are still a TON of old NES and SNES games I'd love to play over most of the new swill that's on the market. While shiny graphics are important in this day and age, devolpers need to start focusing on gameplay again.
Actually, no, I don't mean the 13-21 crowd as that isn't me. The only games you listed on there that I have an interest in can be had on other systems. The only thing that the Gamecube is really good for is party games IMHO.
Oh, and how the fuck is playing my XBox any different than a Nintendo in relation to being a "good media consumer."
Until Nintendo gets with the program and starts aiming at the over 13 crowd I can't get excited about their products. I bought a Gamecube at launch and own 3 games to this day simply because there is NOTHING out there for the older demographic. This is compared to about 20 X-Box and 25 or so PS2 games in my collection.
Will these things be region locked, or can I order on from the Japanese release and play US games on it when they are released on this side of the pond?
I was somewhat interested in this product until I saw the Motorola a630 which seems to be everything an ogo is, but with a phone and a camera thrown in as well. Now if they'd just release the damned things....
I'm going to have to second this. I've had Voom since March, and though they had a few shortfalls, I'm VERY happy with their service. Oh, and as a side note to the geeks that looked into it before and skipped it because they didn't have Sci-Fi, as of 9/7/04, Voom carries Sci-Fi.

Yeah Trudy's here in Austin serves up Kona coffee. Good stuff. Mmmm... Migas.....

Keep Austin Weird!

HAHAHAHAHHA!!! Have you not read what the target demographic is for game systems these days? Talk about being out of touch with reality....
Meh, the only thing on TV from that side of the pond that I'd REALLY like to see is Top Gear. Best damned auto show ever. Long live The Stig!
Maybe I'll pick a copy up and try it out. I loved Lemmings....

BSD has the best mascot out there and they're going to get rid of him?! BOOOO I say!
Like hell you do. Tell that to the 800 or so 2k boxes I admin.
1 in 37? Who'd be dumb enough to worry with odds like that?! Now excuse me, I need to go buy a lottery ticket for this week.
Hell yeah, bring back Andy Griffith! Otis is my God and role model.
Best damned sport out there if you ask me. GO SATO!!
I tested high enoguh to get into Mensa, and that's not saying much for them as a group.
I'm a moron. That will be all. :-)

How is this a new unit?? I've had a couple TBs on a file server of mine for a couple years now.

Does this mean I can get my weekly dose of Top Gear without have to load up the old Bit Torrent client? WOOHOO!
