I was trying to be as diplomatic as possible. This subject causes people that are normally level headed on most issues to fly off the handle on some jingoistic rant.

You are certainly correct that one has to look seriously at the crawl back of real freedoms that are occuring in the United States. Unfortunately it is hard to have these type of discussions on Slashdot.

The assumption you are making is,that it is American
foreign policy to liberate other nations. Outside of the United States this is not generally an accepted view of how things happen.

As is the case currently the United States will certainly liberate the Iraqi oil, and in doing so it might install a democracy and liberate the Iraqi people, but I see this as an incidental event.

Not an anti-war rant, just a differing opinion. Respond with comments not moderation.

Why does any criticism of this invasion of Iraq garner such strong feelings of hatred?

I mean you live in a democracy suposedly where people are free to voice there concerns.

    Just seems weird is all.
I mean who hear, blindly supports anything in other areas of their life to the extent that criticism illicits such strong hatred?

Why is it that there are never any skeptical viewpoints on whether your government, who has lied as a matter of policy(Iran-Contra anyone?), is feeding the US population a stream of lies and half truths.

This suit is a pretty neat idea on how to make better design choices.

You have a point on Bios flashing, as it is possible to leave yourself with a dead board, but your comment about tinkering around with the bios is incorrect, or at least merely your opinion. Your comment about the standard or default settings as being the best is not born out by practical experience.

Most abit boards ship with rather slow default settings in the bios, and setting them correctly can garner up to 1500 more 3dmarks.
    Just my 2 cents.
