Not very, I would imagine. You could just have a cookie, and write down every single click you make for each visitor. Or without cookies, you could force your users to logon to the site and store it server-side.
No. This is just Windows XP. Games and other apps will have to be recompiled to take advantage of it - UT2004 has a beta out, don't know of any others available.
I seem to recall Bill Gates making a claim that Windows would be using a gesture based interface by now, i.e. pointing at program icons to launch them.
There's only *one* gesture I've ever wanted to make at Windows. Care to guess which finger I was using?
Also, this would wreak some serious havoc if you got distracted, like if someone came in the room and you were having a conversation with them. I make all kinds of odd head movements while using my computer.
Perhaps finger movements, e.g. pointing would be less error-prone? Eh. I bet we're using a combination of keyboard, mouse and voice recognition 10 years from now.
What's with this freaking obsession with car names? Firebird, then Thunderbird, now this. They should just call all 3 the SunFireBird Browser/Email/Calendar and get it over with.
And *why* have they not been sued over Thunderbird yet??
That's funny... Service Pack 2 shouldn't let you install unless you're running on AC power - gives you an error message. Of course, I usually install from the 450mb redistributable version, not Windows Update.
You didn't know device manager was based on quantum mechanics?. It's impossible to know whether Windows will recognize the device, and whether it will accept the drivers. or not until you actually connect it. Until you do so, the device in a "connected/not-connected state". And by plugging in the device, you changed the outcome.
Supposedly X-box Next (2) is coming out in a PC version. One of the versions will do everything a PC will do, including burn cd's, play music, video (think Windows Media Center Edition).
For many/.'ers, this is a deal-breaker. Not for me since maybe 5% of my music collection is ogg, the rest are all 192kbps mp3s or vbr.
From the webpage:
http://www.apple.com/ipod, it only plays mp3s and AAC.
About the changing all the IE settings, just install Spybot, update it and click Immunize. This automagically blocks bad activex downloads, so that dumbass users never have the chance to click yes on activex controls.
Here's a silent pc made for gaming.

Voodoo PC makes a high-performance gaming rig that's totally fanless, uses giant heat pipes integrated into the case for cooling. It's called the Rage F50.
Apparently it can cool damn near anything as far as CPUs and GPUs, including an Athlon FX-53 and a Geforce 6800gt and up to 2 Gig of ram. The only thing you'll hear is the drives while you frag.

I'd say that we won't outgrow IPv6 for at least the next century. It provides around 3.4x10^38 addresses, or 340 billion billion billion billion. (give or take a couple billion billion =P).
What the fuck have you been smoking and where can I get some? Last time I checked, XP was based on Win2k, in turn based on NT 4.0.

I think you're looking for assimilating the mothership.
Half Life 2 is extremely CPU-intensive. See this link: http://www.amdzone.com/modules.php?op=modload&name =Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=88&page =1
It scales very, very well with increased GHz, most likely due to the Physics engine.
Just use filetype:torrent. Not pretty, but it works...
