Since WGA is not a default part of windows XP (being that is did not exist when XP came out) eactly how can windows turn round and refuse to run if it isn't there?
Surely therefore it will just be another update that people won't install. Maybe a few pirates will have to re-install windows and not download the patch at most.
Sure does suck though, glad I just made to move to a mac mini for my main computer.
Still my windows box runs windows XP64 and there is no sign of WGA on that as yet unless i missed something!
So the way I see it, some peecee's get switched off, the pirates re-install, a few might buy windows and some might go, hey these mac's are nice (sorry I just like my new mac, never liked the pre osx ones but osx seems likea proper os, even reminds me of amiga os in some ways!)
Er what was I on about? Nah I'm not sure either, anyway I can only see this hurting microsoft, after all it was the we want everyone to run windows even if they don't pay etos that got them where they are today.
Hehe, maybe we do play some dodgy games too, but speaking form personal experience of most games these days I'd prefer to play Monkeyt Island 1 and 2 again on ScummVM. Then again maybe I'm just getting old. I even have a code wheel around here somewhere! MMMm Codewheel!
i bet they (the ps division) did realise this and did not want it in the ps3 but the parent company made them do it becasue they needed to push the format.
> start making games that can be played rigth from the dvd
WHAT!
You nearly made complete sense there, unfortunatly that one part made none.
make games playable from the HD with no disk might be a good and valid point, however no sane person who knows anything about computers would want to have a game playable off of the dvd, ick, i'm just hoping ms aint screwed the xbox 360 by making the hd optional, please developers ignore this, make abox 360 games require the hd, or at least run CRIPPLED without it.
This has the ability to play ogg and flac as well as mp3 so it pretty much plays all my music collection, well except those few vqf's that are in it but hey what does play those anyway!
I'd have thought the problem with strenuous movement on a hd based player is not that the hd spins up infrequently but that when it does you better be fairly still unless you want the heads to crash and not do a whole lot of good to the platters.
Flash if you gonna work it, hd if you not.
I have a iaudio myself, 20gb is good for puting on what random part of my collection i want to listen to (yeah its large no available music player would do unless someone wants to put a 3.5inch hd in one and then yeah i don't want it cause it's too large) and thats because i'd rather support a company that had flac and ogg playback than buy a player that does not but has 3rd party support.
> Gold predicts 'at least one publicized major case of unencrypted data loss from a portable device' in the next year, which will result in many companies banning these kinds of devices."
Unfortunatly I work for a company that would make such a stupid policy.
I wish companies would actually try and do something about the problem rather than banning things.
The way things are going we're gonna have to work naked leaving everything we have at security, because it's the only way we can be sure things aren't stolen.
Still we do have flash drive security here I guess. Only because we still use NT4 on the whole, mmmm nice USB support;-).
> Nothing ruins my cheeseburgers than finding a pickle in the middle.
The pickle has an important purpose.
You are meant to fling it and get it to stick to the highest point of a window within the mcdonalds (this is usually a window above the bottom of the stairs that is in the upsatirs of the place (if you see what i mean)), they often stay there for months because they never clean the place.
>>x86-64 programs are put in C:\Program Files, and 32bit programs are put in C:\Program Files (x86). Many old windows programs (including the steam installer) can't handle parenthesis in a path.
Which is hardly MS's fault now is it, on my 32 bit windows install i have ended up with a C:\Program Files\ directory even though windows and program files are on the d drive, is the ms's fault? no it's crap software. Want it fixed moan to the software makers.
> Useful things like Daemon Tools don't work because of driver format changes.
> What's up with geeks not leaping to solve this problem?
Because we care. Really not having the ability to play the NGE SWG is much better than having memories of a pleasent game tainted by that which it has become.
> What about the thousands of people who bought a copy assuming it would play one way, and then had it changed on them? I would say they were most definitely harmed.
Given the changes to the game that mean everyone who played the game prior to the NGE.
the hardcore pirate would only buy the system if it is cracked, they would never buy any games.
However cracking the system still could sell more games though casual piracy. If someone knows the machine is cracked they may have more incentive to get it. Average joe however might only occasionally get pirate games off someone he knows so therefore may still actually buy games. Several people with cracked xbox 1's fall into this catagory. They have a lot of copies and a lot of originals.
No, a MDI interface does not have tabs thus you had to use the menu to change views, also MDI let you resize each window seperatly, it was like a windowing envoronment in an app. Not that ms were the firt to do it anyway, they just made a framework for people to use.
Tabbed views, have tabs, these allow the user to quickly change tabs, thats the point TABS.

Becase people pirating windows will not download an image with sp2 intergrated.
And even if they stat out at XP SP0 which is unlikely, like SP1 and SP2 are not available to download anyway.
Er, please try to make sense in future.
Maybve because to play ps1 games on the p2 i need the impossible to find ps1 memory card?
I ended up buying a ps1 +6 mem cards + games for less that a new ps1 memory card (hard to find) on ebay.
So I ended up playing the ps1 games on my new ps1 anyway!
Actually about a month ago, I have it on an old 386 laptop that i keep around for the occasional playing of such games!
i bet they (the ps division) did realise this and did not want it in the ps3 but the parent company made them do it becasue they needed to push the format.
ha ha sony loses!
You never thought of whitelisting your work email address?
Thats what everyone else does so we can mail links to look at later at home.
Sounds like it was working fine to me ;-)
> What percentage of open source code is rootkits?
0.01%
> What percentage of honda drivers are mass murderers?
80%
hope that helps you.
> I want a system that can push an HDTV
Well you may wannt sit out this round and wait for ps4 / xbox 720 (or whatever) becasue nothing will this time round.

I relaly hope for your sake that was a rhetorical question.
like linux, ogg etc then?
Get a iaudio player.
I have the iaudio M5 20gb.
This has the ability to play ogg and flac as well as mp3 so it pretty much plays all my music collection, well except those few vqf's that are in it but hey what does play those anyway!

So your idea is to copy a broken model.
Great idea there, good thinking.
> who is gonna pay $60 for generic sports game 2006
Only a moron.
End of story.
They need to stop producing crap with no value and make a decent game for a change.
> Nothing ruins my cheeseburgers than finding a pickle in the middle.

They released a 64 bit version now.

Because we care. Really not having the ability to play the NGE SWG is much better than having memories of a pleasent game tainted by that which it has become.
> You can't really have a MMORPG catering to a target group of one.
But surely that was the entire purpose of the NGE?
> What about the thousands of people who bought a copy assuming it would play one way, and then had it changed on them? I would say they were most definitely harmed.
Given the changes to the game that mean everyone who played the game prior to the NGE.
Presumably only if he watched the film though.
Casual Piracy.

Me I'll stick to my PC for gaming.

I will stress again tabbed views are about TABS.
