When it shoves you over to Google.ca, look near the bottom and there is a link to google.com.
If you click this link you get to the regular google.
And for me after clicking this link I no longer get shunted to google.ca.
Plus I think the results are the same no matter which page you go from, so you're not really missing out on anything, you just get a handy little option to search only Canadian web pages.

Contrary to popular belief the Amish do use electricity and other technology where it is required. For instance they are required to keep all commercially bound dairy products refridgerated by law before they are delivered. This requires *surprise* electricity, not to mention refridgerators. So if they want to sell their milk/cheese etc, they require electricity.. or a helluva lot of ice blocks to keep the required temp low enough for commercial storage.

No, they don't have to open all the API's. In fact they get to keep anything related to anti-piracy, DRM and most other security related items. How much do you want to bet a lot of stuff is now going to have security tied into it sooner rather than later?

And this is only effective for 5 years. What happens after that?

    Yes, inflatable!
This is the method that they use to squish large chunks of whatever they are building into a small space so that they can more easily be launched.
I watched some sort of documentary on this where they were talking about how inflatable pieces could be hooked together and assembled much quicker and cost substantially less to get into space. they also covered the material that is used to create this and how it is resistant to certian sized asteriod collisions and whatnot. I think the outer cover is made of some sort of kevlar material.

Also with the larger proportion of astronauts being male I'm sure they would need other 'inflatable items' on a space station 5/6th of the way to the moon.

Who *wants* to have work follow them everywhere they go? Get up.. there's the boss on the computer waiting for you to get out of bed. Try to escape? Nuh uh.. the toaster has a few voicemails waiting for you before breakfast..
Run out the door to the car.. that's ok.. everything was forwarded to your dashmail while you were unplugging the toaster since you didn't verify it was read before it was unplugged. All this time your cell phone is going off because someone thinks their current thoughts are more important than yours. Meanwhile you're probably being tracked by marketing droids to see if they can sell you a product that will somehow get you out of bed, dressed and to your corporate shackles quicker, after all it's not you that matters.. it's the almighty dollar.. which you are making for someone else and the marketing people want some too. you're just a simple consumer after all aren't you?

Cell phones, pagers, voicemail.. bah I say. If you want to get ahold of me it's your job to track me down not my job to have every available tracking device at your disposal.

Thanks, but no thanks.. you can keep your integrated office far away from me.
