Maybe that might kick Mozilla along a bit with SVG support :)

  7. The reason this is a "breakthrough" on Breakthrough In JPEG Compression · · Score: 2, Informative

is because it is a way to compress (some types of) file that are ALREADY compressed. If you've ever zip'd (or RAR's or 7Zip'd or Gzip'd etc) a jpeg, a gif, a png or even another zip file - ie. any other type of already compressed file - you'll be lucky to get any savings, or if you do it will be a few % at most. That's because most of the redundancy (ie. compressibility) has already been removed from the data in the file.
This method can compress jpg files significantly, and that is NEW, in fact it was previously though to be something that was more or less impossible (or at least, extremely difficult with little to gain).
Of course it is slow, but it works and it will find practical uses.

In Australia (and many other countries), the dialer pays for the call, and we get maybe 1 or 2 telemarketing calls a month, and then usually from a charity or market research survey. Our phone number is not even unlisted.

Nobody should have to dig through a preferences file to turn off a "feature" that will cost them money.
In Australia where I live (and many other countries) you pay for every byte that you download.

Mozilla also isn't any good for browing with images disabled - all of the image placeholders and the alt text that goes with them become invisible if you turn images off, and this makes browsing most sites difficult if not impossible with images turned off.

These things make Moz harder to use (esp. for people on low bandwidth or pay-per-byte) which is the last thing any of us need or want...
