If i buy a washing machine and decide to modify it to make it run faster I sure as hell am not gonna get sued for it. Sure it would invalidate the warrenty etc, but hey who cares. If the washing machine had special screwes fitted to prevent me from taking it appart if i choose to force the screws out with a crowbar or other similar device thats my choice. Why are computers so different from other products???
Whys is it that if I buy a computer and it crashes thats computers for you but if I buy a washing machine that breaks down or does somthing odd i take it back and complain lots???
Actualy it is. As I understand it another game isnt shipped until one is returned thus each game has a delay at it's begginging and start, so there are two delays associated with one rental.
Raid level 0 allows two disks to appear as one large disk effectively. Provided it is implemented in hardware a performance increase should be noticable, since for every 2bits written each drive only has to write one bit (and reading/writing a hdd is slow). (thats a slightly simplifed explination, and assumes there are only 2 disks in the array)
Is all the music tv stations... I was talking to a friend about this the other day, and he hardly even downloads mp3's now because he has mtv2 and loads of other channels so there is allways somthing he likes on.
Until the page loads, (which if we do keep clicking referesh will be never). That way their bandwith for port scanning is presumably all used up by us, end of company:-)
because by far the biggest cost assosiated with fiber/cables etc is digging up the road, and until that become cheaper or an alternative is found it will remain rediculously expensive still
Why are they called RJ-45 and RJ-11... are the numbers significant? And perhap the awnswer to that would help to explain if there were any other RJ-XX connectors????
actualy im fairly sure most students would have little difficulty in obtaining it provided it was for legitimate use not "i bet my friend i couldnt down a pint of it"
I would dearly love to subscribe, but their payement options are far to restrictive for me. I only have a UK debit card currently, which they unfortunatly dont accept
I have been using mozilla on alll my os's nonstop since M18 now, but I persoanly think the interface looks very slick. And its fully skinable... try the IE6 look-a-like skin from http://themes.mozdev.org for instance
a good game of anything can be total immersing. When playing red alert 2 or quake 3 or cs the whole world ceases to exist around me if its a good game.
(maybe im just sad though)

Does anyone else here find it ironic that the artical is being run by the British Broadcasting Corporation, and not msnbc/reuters/yahoo etc???

whats really ironic is getting winmodems to work with windows XP/2k is really annoying
It would be fairly easy with squid and a url redirector and transparent http caching
:-)
Transparent squid proxy howto
The tricky bit would be ensuring that documents allready in a frameset aren't broken, but that could be done fairly simply with a perl script
As far as Ive managed to figure MS's R&D is 20 blokes huddled around the latest kde/linux build they can find...
