Ummm its nice this person has so much insight into microsofts business plan. I bet lots of corporations would pay big bucks to know MSFT's strategy before everyone else. "Leveraging their instant message monopoly to gain market dominance????" Someone's got their head up there ass. I realize all that msft has done in the past but to assume you know their next move like this guy is crazy. Business 101 tells you that the market changes fast enough that aside from a few indicators you larger are unsure about any future business plans. Nice work buddy.

I agree with you completely I have thought that the media (which shouldn't even be called Fair and Balanced) has done more damage to our country by the stories they pick then anyother area of pop culture. The only thing in their defense is that this has been going on since the days of yellow journalism and probably long before that. If it is truely supply and demand then obviously this is what the ignorant masses want and the non ignorant slashdot crowd :) will have to resort to basement web publishing journalists. Very good article and excellent point

  9. I agree with Microsoft????? on Cable Firms Limit Users' Freedoms · · Score: 1

I do I really agree with Microsoft I realize they are taking this position for their own business practices but the concept is sound. Just because the current business model of these high speed internet providers is horrid doesn't mean that they have the right to limit what you surf for???? Oh wait its a free world they tell you up front that hey your not going to be able to do certain things if you get service from us. And what do we do but sign on the dotted line. Maybe its our faults for accepting terms of service like this and hey wait a minute doesn't microsoft limit what you can do with their service that they provide (the OS). Well what the heck apparently businesses can decide what they sell you and get this you can choose whether to buy it??? Ok now I am confused you mean with all these choices if i pick something that i don't like its MY FAULT??????

I agree IDEALLY we would assess our abilities in the manner most fitting for each individual but we are currently struggling just to pump out people with degrees regardless of whether they can read write or dance. How many times have you heard on /. you need to have more than just a degree to be a programming god, you don't learn what you need in school just how to learn. Well that is because they don't have the resources to teach you the most effective way. Good luck getting a school to dump resources into tailoring education for you.

WINDOWS haha, just kidding, Why do we have to go with the term unbreakable how gullible do they think we are???? In order to have services people want, need, and desire you are required to leave a certain amount of openness for the product to function and that openness can sometimes be exploited. It would be so much better IMHO to say we are coming out with a standard that is more secure than ever before with a dedication to updating or something ya know. What do you guys think?
