Right now I have 16 different windows. But two of those are IDEs with lots of opened files in tabs; one is a text editor with 9 files in tabs; and, of course, there is Firefox with 27 tabs (thanks God for the improved tab management in Firefox 2.0).
I also keep windows in the same place for days between log-offs.
I can't help but feel a little sad about his. Although Lego has its share of company-wrong-doing-and-greed, Lego bricks are some of the nicest toys around. I really hope Lego can put its show together again.
I don't know about you, but during my CS degree I had to use and deliver course projects mostly in C, Haskell, Java, Prolog and x86 Assembly. But I also had to work with Smalltalk, Florid, LIFE, Scheme, LISP, C++ and VHDL.
Sony suing Lik-Sang is one of the most stupid things I've seen a company do.
And besides that, it is also a obvious example of double standards. Even Sony directors were huge clients of Lik-Sang.
For example (as stated in the note): - Ray Maguire (Managing Director, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Ltd) - Alan Duncan (UK Marketing Director, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Ltd) - Chris Sorrell (Creative Director, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Ltd) - Rob Parkin (Development Director, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Limited)
They'd have to be six, I can't get any of them out of the list.
In no particular order: Starcraft Mario Kart Super Mario 3 Angband Civilization, yes, that's it, the first one. Tetris for the Gameboy
Besides these, most Zelda and some Megaman are real close to top 5. As well as all Bomberman (that I know of) for the Turbografx and Colonization for the PC.
This is not so new, by the last week of last month it was revealed in the press that besides this info about Universal, 20th Century Fox, Buena Vista and even *Sony Pictures* are scaling back releases on the format.
I don't get why all this about grown ups playing games. It is all the natural. As Huizinga points in his book (Homo Ludens), since 1939 and before, play is part of culture. And play is inevery aspect of our lives.
My first one was a Microdigital TK90X, a Sinclair ZX Spectrum 48k clone produced in Brazil. I still rememer that "the only one with 48kbytes of memory" written in the box.
After printing my name on the screen with the simplest program, I was totally hooked.
Great memories (except for the tape-waiting part).:)
Well, I agree about Gates being like a robber baron. But I for one think that it's a good thing of him to make this donations. How about lots of others that have loads of money (gained via similar tactics) and that keep all of it to themselves?
I'm not trying to condone his ways but, being pragmatic, I prefer this actions to none at all.
I don't know why, but I just can't get to like Sluggy that much.
Another online geek/nerd comic is UserFriendly, and I think it's much better. Altough it's been a while since the last "awesome" strip.
And of course, even another option for those with a more "academic" background would be Piled Higher& Deeper, a comic about grad students life (or lack of:) ). As I am a PhD student right now, I identify with this a lot. If you are a grad student, you should definitely check it out.
I used to work for a company in Brazil, called Cia do Sol (tarnslates to Sun Company), were we made illumination simulation using Radiance and did internal illumination usign fiber. The capture spot would capture sunlight and follow the sun, and if there was not enough light, lamps would also be used.
For me it looks about the same approach, and I left the company in 98/99!
ESR didn't step down, according to the article, he stepped aside.:)

Seems quite likely useful for "tracking" what they got. It kind of matches the only two types of users I could find/identify in texts related to the talk.

Has anyone else heard about the Cougar Boy? A Gameboy clone/wannabe. I only know one person who has it.
So apples are better. I mean, if they are the Wii in the comparison.

I'll be avoiding Sony stuff after this...

What is the problem with the Game Developers Choice Awards? For me it is a great award, although not perfect, of course.

That really gives a whole new meaning to *random* access memory.

Does the above post qualify for applying Godwin's Law? :)
Hmmm, no quote about someone "going to fu*&%^$& kill" someone else?
How sad.
Kind of related, I had a similar experience in the US.
I am Brazillian and was asked several times if there were cars in here, if I lived in the jungle, if there were lots of snakes in the streets, etc.
And when I said I worked with cellphone software and was a PhD student I heard more than one: "Wow, I didn't know people did this in Brazil".
All of these are real examples of questions asked to me, and not by kids. It's really appaling.
Man, it's been a while since I laughed so much.
Heheehhehehehehehheheheheh
I wish I had some mod points right now.

Well, one can do as you did and draw the lines between the names.
Guess this is not exacly news.

Yes, just like Morgoth, the scream will be heard forever in the area. :)
Naaaaa, that would be "ironic" female heroine of our time.
Ooooooh, that's a costume?
