Without saying that these theories are wrong, the still leave questions unanswered. One-- the article states that infrasound is produced by some natural phenomena. By nature of it's definition, isn't phenomena something that is unexplained? Two-- this still doesn't explain how infrared cameras have recorded strange shapes (possibly ghosts). I don't have any specific links to provide, but Google should come up with plenty. What the heck happened with the other study that was being conducted on the possible validity of ghosts existing? I wish that I had the link to the article right now. Does anyone else remember reading or hearing about this? On the other hand, I'd love to be able to generate infrasound. Are there any apps that do this? Think of the possibilities! I could just imagine experimenting with it at work where things are already miserable:)
I'm not trolling, but since when does M$ have a say in plans of another nation? It's as if England started building houses for Britons and Toll Brothers got in a huffy about it. I don't really know if Toll Brothers builds in England, but you get the idea...
I grew up in Philly and left about four months ago. Here's what I know. The Philly public school system is shite. They're in their fourth year of budget problems and the state actually stepped in and bailed them out on one of them. Packed classrooms, lack of textbooks and teaching materials, etc. It's nasty. I spent a year at Southern before my mother pulled me out and put me in Catholic school. I would only think that this could be a good thing, especially considering that the city likes building football and baseball stadiums instead of improving things like public education. Outside interests can only help. Don't get me wrong, I don't think that it's the greatest thing in the world and it skeeves me out just a bit, but it's more of a 'better than nothing' situation. Kids can only benefit. Let them find open source the way I did-- I like to think of it as being chosen:)
Think of the possible effects that this sort of technology could have on gaming. Although AI gets better and better every day, are we looking at a future where playing against a machine would be almost the same as playing against a human?
I haven't used creatine, but know a number of people who do. Body odor is not the only side affect. People who use creatine have problems with losing hair, enlarged foreheads and impotence. Basically, you can expect a number of the side affects that you would from using steroids-- you start to look like a "juicer". I don't think that the extra brain power is worth it. Stick with other things like ginseng:)
Could it be possible that this is evolution taking over and protecting us from the various different tracking measures that will one day soon be put in place? I know it sounds paranoid. It's really just dumb speculation. But, what if...
Their customer service is actually pretty good, at least from what I've experienced. The problem that I have with them is that they're coverage areas on the GSM network aren't good at all and that they're not really getting much better.
If you're talking about the office, I'm not really sure what you can do while remaining stationary. There is an exercise called Great Walls that you can do while sitting in place, you tighten your abs, hold for six second release and immediately tighten them again. It's more effective standing, but I occasionally do them throughout the day when no one can see the strange looks I'm making... I go to a gym and I really don't believe that you're going to get in shape without going to a gym. I'm on a mass-building workout plan, but you can go for an hour a day three times a week and lose a ton of weight and get back into shape. Cardio is definitely key for losing weight and diet is obviously important. If you're going for hardcore, here's what I do:) Five days a week. Each day, I focus on one particular group of muscles with five exercises and four sets of each. I always do abs (two exercises) and I run 1.3 miles a day. My days are split up as follows: 1. Legs 2. Shoulders 3. Chest 4. Back 5. Arms (Triceps and Biceps) Arnold's encyclopedia is ***GREAT*** and he has a good workout plan which I followed for a while but switched up for a change of pace. I also think I was overtraining, but that's beside the point. I know you're probably looking for an easy answer, but I don't think that there is one. One thing working out has taught me after almost a year and a half is discipline. Supreme discipline. You learn a lot about yourself when you realize that you have the gumption to drag your ass into the gym when you're tired, sick, etc. Hope that helped:)
Resist your urges to buy this DVD! You know that they're going to release a trilogy box set deal after the third movie and that you're going to want that as well... willpower...fading...must...not...buy...
I remember when I first opened my C64 on Christmas day... I remember Radar Rat Race, the ten pound 5 and a quarter floppy drive, copying BASIC line for line from laminated spiral books that promised to teach you how to program... It was cool to be the only kid on the block with a computer. Ah, the good old days...
I don't think that the schools are going to prove to be the sole factor in Linux on the desktop, but it's a good step.
Maybe it won't be the sole factor, but it sure as hell is going to make a huge difference. Think of all of the lucky kids who are getting to know Linux at a young age and take that knowledge and (hopefully) preference into adulthood.
Seeing as how spammers are paid for the messages that they send out, how is it possible to track the messages that have been sent using this type of method? If you've got millions of nodes around the world sending messages on your behalf, how do you tell how many you've sent so that you can bill your clients?
I don't think it's strange that the RIAA has been allowed to carry on as long as they have as the general public is not as aware as it should be of this situation or its gravity. I think that events like this, although bad for those involved, can only help to spread the word and raise awareness of it all. It might be a bit optimistic, but it can't hurt to look on the bright side.
Seriously though... I have also been diagnosed with ADD. I don't believe in medicating the problem at all. Who knows what effects these drugs are going to have fifty or so years down the road? I prefer to take a more philosophical approach and view it as a form of evolution. I think that the 'condition' itself might be the side-effect of our minds trying to cope with the fast-paced world of today. I don't know much about cases of this in the past, but I recall reading an article about how incidents of it are more common now. For better concentration, I think that some form of meditation is in order. Although Zen is not meditation per se, it greatly helps with concentration with the side benefit of eventual enlightenment:) The bottom line is that it all lies in controlling your mind and becoming aware of the processes that are causing you problems. I sincerely believe that control can be achieved without medicine.
I remember reading something in one of Sagan's books saying that nuclear propulsion was a no-go due to a treaty that had been signed (the name of the treaty escapes me at the moment) with other nations which prohibitted the detonation of the nuclear materials in space. Anyone know anything about this?
I thought that quantum cryptography was the following:
Location A has a proton that is spinning in one direction while Location B has another proton from the same atom which is also spinning in the same exact direction at the same speed as the result of some sort of natural phenomenon. When one location shoots the proton with a beam of some sort to make it spin in the other direction at a different speed the proton at the second location starts to do exactly what the proton at the first location was doing that presenting an unhackable method of generating keys. Is this right?
While nVidia has made great cards for some time now (I still use and love my GeForce 3), could it be possible that they're not able to keep up? A lot of the reviews that I've been reading tend to favor the Radeon cards over any anything that nVidia has put out lately. While I doubht that nVidia will become another 3Dfx because they're involved in other markets and I've read about them having US government contracts for this project or that, I would propose that they will not be the huge players that they once were in the vid card market.

From the Kinks 'Muswell Hilbillies' album:
It's a cure for hepatitis, it's a cure for chronic insomnia
It's a cure for tonsilitis and for water on the knee.

Smart skins would have been nice this morning when some jerk backed into my car and didn't bother to leave a note...

I'm taking bets on how many times they can work SCO into the posting titles...
SCOing, SCOing, SCOne!!!

Why not apply it to the film and music industry while we're at it. Someone should be accountable for Kangaroo Jack...
