VMWare Virtual Infrastructure can already turn off unneeded physical servers and power them on again when the extra capacity is needed. All the VMs (your actual server that run websites etc.) keep on running, but if they aren't using much CPU/RAM then you can squash them into fewer physical servers (automagically) and power off the unneeded hosts.
surprised no-one else has already picked this up, but four 1.5TB disks in RAID 1+0 would give you 3TB of usable space (slightly less as HD manufacturers count in 1000's rather than 1024's or whatever)
The torrents Blizzard uses for updates to World of Warcraft are standard torrents. If you open up their updater executable you can find the torrent file and load it into a standard BitTorrent client.
I'd just like to point out that pretty much every game I have for the Gamecube (between 15 and 20, can't be bothered to count them) autosaves at relevant points. Admittedly most of these are games actually by Nintendo.

Funny, my first computer fit in a keyboard (Atari 800XL) then the one after that (Amiga 500) then the one after that (Amiga 1200). wait a sec...
This is absolutely true. To be honest I havn't even completed the single player missions in DoW, but have played plenty of multiplyer, and imho this is where the game shines.
Also, I did play some of the single player campaigns in C&C:Generals and I can honestly say that the AI absolutely sucked:(
Um the machines in those renderfarms where probably using crappy S3 Trio cards or something. Rendering like that doesn't take place on the graphics card, it takes place on the CPU(s)
As someone pointed out above there is a HUGE line between discipline and abuse and obviously those people that cross the line should be punished.
On the otherhand you can't just say "no-one is allowed to hit/strike/slap/whatever" their children, as some children (well, most really) will do something "naughty" and the most effective way of making sure that they know not to do it again is a small amount of corporal punishment.
Maya runs on Linux...

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that...
Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart 3D is available on the iPhone and works pretty damn well!
http://www.last.fm/ is completely free and legal and wonderful!
Judging by your comment, I'd say that Google don't want to employ your for your linguistic skills...

I play a NE Druid and I use Shadowmeld loads! (Even in humanoid form)

We satisfy all the above requirements
If you're really serious about Server Virtualisation you should go with VMware. There is no contest in performance and reliablility.

I would just like to point you in the direction of WH40K:Dawn of War, released a month or so ago.
Uh, is that some sort of troll?
All I can say is that the murderer was obviously *not that much of a friend* if he killed his so called "friend"
Worst. Soviet Russia Joke. Ever.
It's called OSS Emulation which is an option for ALSA when you compile it.
Thats just rubbish. The Linux NVIDIA drivers are based on the same code as their Windows counterparts.
600KB JPEG, looks just as good as the original TIFF.

uh, no, you just get an email from slashdot telling you when someone replies to a post
I can never understand why the americans insist on writing mm-dd-yy, it's like writing mm:hh:ss which would just be stupid...
That's not discipline, that's abuse.
