You're awfully nice talking about that Fox News anchor... After watching that, my opinion is that he's a waste of life and he should immediately deposit himself at the nearest recycling center. That was so fucking annoying to watch.. It's like he thought he was the middle man between smart and normal - so he's patronizing us while being an idiot.
I look at their data farm - and its complexity.. and cannot help but wonder how Google has organized itself for their thousands of employees to properly maintain it. No one employee can know every piece of it - or is it simply so simple that every employee knows all of it?
Then.. we realize that our own lifespans and lives are as prone to failure as the servers in their datacenters. Our lifespans are short and everyone has problems.. So Google has mastered the ability to make us interchangeable.
I mean.. Information doesn't kill people; people kill people!!! It's what you do with the information that counts!
I got curious once and looked up how to make a hydrogen bomb. Does that make me a terrorist? NO. Because I only use my hydrogen bomb for personal self-defense!
The more a law or set of laws is broken, the more it loses its legitimacy. In the case of copyright, the law lost all meaning years and years ago. If there was any real meaning to the copyright law in the US, court outcomes would be somewhat consistent, punishments would fit the crime, and one violating party would not get off scott-free while another violating party is ordered to pay $220,000 in fines.
If you want to maintain control of something, don't make it public.
That's why it is nice that AMD is doing this rather than Intel... considering Intel were the biggest abusers of the 'Vista Capable' mark. At least if it's the underdog dictating the standards, they will never be able to dictate standards that are sub-par.
Seriously.. record box office receipts with movies as bad as they are? What the fuck is the MPAA complaining about?
They make utter shit.. and people flock to pay for it! I can think of maybe one decent movie in the past few years.. Blood Diamond.

I wonder how many people like this are just Intel shareholders eager to sit on the next unhindered 'Microsoft' stock. Force AMD out of business and Intel is the next Microsoft..
The sad thing is that sheer disgust is pretty much the most insightful way to look at this..

Has Ron Paul Quit?
·
· Score: 1
Out of the hundreds of hours of political conversations with friends, coworkers, relatives, I know more Ron Paul supporters than supporters of any other candidate. I know more people that voted for Ron Paul than all of the other candidates combined. I live in Florida - where Paul has done worse than any other state..
In my area, I've seen 10x the signs, bumper stickers, and T-shirts for Ron Paul than all of the other candidates combined - in the malls, neighborhoods, everywhere in my town. And then.. I find out that not only did Ron Paul only get ~4% in Florida, he got less than that in my town.. I don't believe it.
This entire election, I see so much support for Ron Paul - he's raised more money, he has more grassroots effort - and yet there is always a 'mysterious entity from somewhere higher up' that declares that Ron Paul is a long shot and not worth our votes..
And now, even on Slashdot, where Ron Paul should be a superhero among the entire Slashdot community, he is merely a superhero for the bottom.. Those of us that hardly get modded up.. Yet, the discussions placed on the front pages of Slashdot say things like 'Huckabee, Romney, McCain only' or 'Has Ron Paul Quit?' --- another example of 'mysterious entity from somewhere higher up' declaring Ron Paul not viable.
Fuck that. I'm voting for Ron Paul. And, fuck you, Slashdot super-mods that attempt to influenece the tone of Ron Paul support from the Slashdot community. (This is not directed to the lowly +1/-1 mods that typically rate Ron Paul fairly.)
I don't know how anyone would modify the parent insightful. If you do believe that Ron Paul may indeed be a 'racist whack-job', then please do your own research rather than relying on a single partisan Slashdot post.
Ron Paul is not racist. He's an individualist who is against the liberal notion of putting people in groups. He states that this 'group mentality is inherently racist.'
It's like these laws are passed just to keep us consuming at a ridiculous rate..
Outlawing certain light bulbs should NEVER happen in a 'free' country. What about all the people with old ovens, refrigerators, microwaves, etc that require incandescent bulbs?
No real engineer would design a nuclear bomb that would actually work that goes into the hands of a stupid politician that might try to use it! However, they are handed very real looking toys.
The only opposition I have encountered in MY OWN PERSONAL push for Ron Paul is three things:
1. name-calling - 'OMG he is a lunatic because he's different than the others!' 2. ignorance - 'Who the hell is Ron Paul? I've heard of Guilliani..' 3. chances of winning - 'He doesn't have a chance in hell!'
To the name-callers.. How about you attempt to discredit him on a real issue. I grew up being called names.. I don't mind 'right-wing lunatic' added to the list of insults that I overcame.
To the ignorant ones.. Go get educated! Go to his website (ronpaul2008.com).. Google him.. Watch clips of him on Youtube! Read about him.. You will probably like him after that.
For those who quote his chances of winning.. I say, "Vote your conscience. The lesser of two evils is still evil." I believe John Quincy Adams said something much more eloquent.. but I cannot find his quote.
This has got to be one of the stupidest 'features' I have ever heard..
What if I call 911 because someone is breaking into my house and I'm hiding?! What if I'm being held hostage and I dial 911? What if I'm at a bank and someone is robbing it and I try to dial 911 because they haven't seen me yet?!
Also, why the fuck do phones have to beep annoyingly when you turn them off!?!?
Please sue that phone company into the ground. That is completely unwarranted.
Out of that $8million in funding, spend $1million lobbying to Bush/Hillary/Guilliani Co. to get asteroids labeled as 'trrrrerist threats.' Then, declare that you plan to eavsdrop on all asteroid activity under a contract with Haliburton. Now, contact Haliburton and tell them you will do trrrrerist hunting for $50million/year. Haliburton will ask for $100million/year from the US gov't. Boom.. the Fed will print more money!
If that doesn't work..
Spend another $1million lobbying the other Republicrats.. and declare that by spending $50million to paint the observatory green, it will save like $4 in energy costs per year.
In Florida, for most of the drivers here, any evasive action requires a minimum of 10 seconds.

The greasy 70's and sweaty 80's rendered touch screens intolerable after any sort of use. Now, people are much less greasy and sweaty.
I swear no one had AC in the 80's.

You gotta understand the Bush administration!
