Geez, at least wait a few more days and play the game before you get yourself all in a tizzy.
I'm sure the console port is just that, a port of the main game made for consoles. The PC version will be the full blown edition. Just don't play the console version if it bothers you that much. But there are some people out there that the console version will be their only option. You should at least praise Id for making it more available.

People are unwilling to pay $50 because they can pirate it for $0. I don't think the developers can sell games for less than $0.

The problem is that people do pay $50 and end up with a steaming pile crap game that is worthless. You can only get burned so many times. I have d/l'd games simply to check them out because $50 is a steep price to simply find out if a game is playable or not. I'll always buy the game if it holds my interest for more than an hour, otherwise I delete it and move on. Not only do I want to support the developers but the benefits of getting the manual and being able to apply updates is worth the cost. But why should I support the developers of games that I won't even play?

This reminds of a pretty cool advertising campaign that was done for the mini series 'V' back in the 80's.

I used to take BART to school in San Francisco and one day in the stations there appeared these generic looking posters of happy family scenes and such with the words 'The Visitors are our friends' written on them. No other information was anywhere on the posters. Nobody knew what they were about but it got everyone talking. Then about a week later there was suddenly big red spray painted V's on all the posters. It was pretty strange at the time and I didn't know what it was about until the series came out about 6 months later. It got me to watch it.

Sure, if the phones lasted that long. I usually get about 2 years out of mine. Due to dropping and other assorted accidents I am finally forced to get a new phone.

Instead of all those usleess features, I would like to see a really durable phone that was made out of rubber or something for the klutzy customers like me. Of course this is probably due to planned obsolesence, so it will never change.

TLC is now mainly some flavor of home remodeling, Discovery, The History Channel have also followed suit with their own versions of reality.

I'm not sure how much you know about such things, but here are two quick notes for you: a) The closer you re traveling at the speed of light, the slower time moves, this has been proven and b) iirc if you could take Jupiter's mass and crush it into a hollow sphere 8 feet in diameter( might be radius) and you sat in the sphere, the rest of the world would age significantly faster then you ( time would actually be moving much slower for you).

Well, I'm not sure how much I know about these things but in response to your examples:
    a) Sure time is slowing down, but you are still traveling forward in time. Just as you are now, but slower.
    b) Correct me if I'm wrong but if you sat on the mass of Jupiter compressed to 8 feet in diameter, your atoms would simply become a part of that little sphere. And if you could survive, once again you are still moving forward in time, just slower.

I have read many books on time travel, both pro and con. The pro side hasn't convinced me yet. Until actual proof is presented to me I'll keep it in the same category as UFO's and the Loch Ness Monster.
