Even with that the major stations are the cleanest I remember them and the new trains are bright, clean, and you can actually understand what it is saying. Even the number of beggars seems down.
True, the major stations in NYC are getting cleaner and are also receiving much needed renovations, but I don't know about the panhandlers reducing in number. You're bound to run into at least 2 a day just during am/pm rush hours alone. They just seem cleaner than before, so maybe you're just confusing them as passengers who talk/sing loud?
Though, at times, it really is hard to determine which is which. Better to just ignore them all, I suppose.
Because over here, in the UK, it's pretty much replaced 'vacuum' as a verb. People use it uncapitalized all the time. I frequently hear and see "Hoover up that dirt." or whatever. Maybe it's because Hoover was a much bigger brand over here??
I didn't know that's how they said it in the UK, but if Hoover is the most popular brand, I can see why this would be the case. I don't know about everyone else, but when I ask my wife to vacuum, I'll say, "Honey, can you DirtDevil the floor real quick before our guests arrive? In the meantime, I'll Maytag the dishes and Hefty the garbage.";)
All kidding aside, I own a Jeep. And sometimes it annoys me when people ask: "Oh, you have a Jeep? Which manufacturer?" To which I'll reply: "Uhm.. Jeep." -_-* ('95 Cherokee XJ, in case you're wondering ^_^)
OT, but I have a friend that tells me this ALL the time, even using it as part of his e-mail sig. You wouldn't happen to be a practitioner of TKD, would you? Then I'd understand. Not so much in agreement, but why you would say it. Heh.:)
Abuse of apostrophes bother me too, but the example you're pointing to can be right or wrong, IMHO. As stated here, it can be used "to form a plural where the omission of the apostrophe would cause confusion."
Obviously, in this case, omission of it probably wouldn't cause confusion, but I would think that using apostrophes on acronyms would be correct? I could be wrong. ^_^
What if you buy a copy of Windows but don't want, need, or use it anymore? Can't you just give it to someone instead of selling it? Would that be legal?
I don't understand why such a harsh restriction could be placed on any software.
Reminds me of the initial PSX's problems as well. Remember how the first 2 versions of that model had the skipping problems with the CD-ROM's? I went through 3 PSX systems. Even the 3rd one (which I still have) sort of works, but I play most of them on PS2 anyway.
Those bastards. Why must they make cool looking but faulty hardware? (This applies to their shitty phones and VCR's as well.)
I think he tried to give it credit to where credit was due, only he spelled the name wrong. It should've been McDowell's, but he probably wanted to get the joke out before anyone else took it, so he didn't bother to check it out or look it up.:)
Anyway, he didn't even know how to use the [sic] notation properly either (which he shouldn't have used at all).

Speaking as a Korean, it's just because SPAM tastes so good! (I always keep a can handy in my cupboard for special occasions.) So, we like to share it with others around the world.
Am I kidding about electronic SPAM? Yes. About being Korean? No. About SPAM the "meat".. hmm.. sort of.:)
FIRST TIME REACHING 2nd ROUND IN WORLD CUP HISTORY!! GO KOREA!!
We once had a user named Yoyo (she was Taiwanese and I work for an Asian company). Her name in itself is kind of weird, but her last name was Yang. So, her email was 'yoyoy@...
Not that it's really funny, but I thought it was pretty unique. Still, I guess it can be tricky if you try spelling it out for someone over the phone.

CD
Oh boy...
I disagree. It's more likely to be 'Phase 3.'
Starbucks has already begun the 'Phase 2' part.
"pain is weakness leaving the body."
Nice sig. My friend says that all the time. You into TKD by any chance?

Yeah, IANALE but slander is spoken, libel is written.
:/
Of course, I didn't know this until I saw Spider-Man. Who knew I'd learn legal terminology from that movie?
No, it's not edited out on the DVD. I have it and they say "Lybians". I believe it's only been edited out on television.

Oh well, too bad I'm allergic to pain. X(

LOL. Nice one. :)
Hmm.. Is the license completely non-transferable?

Hahahaha.. very good. That made me laugh. Haven't been to a sermon in years, but if they were more like that, I'd think I'd go more often. ;)

Thanks for pointing that out. Because of you, I also had a pretty good stomach-cramping laugh.
*phew*
Time to catch my breath and get back to work...
Well, this dude just retired. I'm sure he'll be looking for something to do.

Funny reference, nonetheless.
Okay, but this Bolo player is on my team.
LOL. Very hilarious.. Thanks! :)
Really? This interests me. Do you have any links to resources?
.. ?

Thank God I didn't read anything about Ep. II prior to watching. That was one of the best surprises.
Best Lightsaber Duel. Ever.
