That is incorrect. It was released before the new year so it could be considered for the Oscars. It's nothing new to debut a movie right before the new year so it will be fresh in the Academy's mind when nominating and voting occur.
Maybe I wasn't clear enough. I don't have a big problem with the casting of the original motion picture(in fact, some of the casting was great). I meant that as a whole, the movie wasn't very faithful to the book, hence the "debacle"(it's actually not THAT bad of a movie, just so disappointing when compared to the book). I thought the costume design and scenery were the best parts of the movie. For example, the stillsuit is much cooler in the original.
Actually, the Fremen draw more close comparisions with Judaism than Islam. Although there is plenty of seemingly Muslim influence thrown in (jihad, etc.).
The big problem with the miniseries was that the actor playing Gurney Halleck was absolutely horrible. I guess it's partly because I can't see anyone but Patrick Stewart as him(one of the only redeeming features of David Lynch's debacle). At no time during the series, did I believe that he was an elite fighter of any kind.
Also, neither the movie or the miniseries did Duncan Idaho justice. In the novels, he's a badass but he doesn't even do anything in the miniseries. Richard Jordan was just too old to play him in the original movie. The actor portraying him in the miniseries just wasn't given enough screen time.
From seeing the documentary, I thought it was evident that Jake Lloyd had more trouble pronouncing the words than forgetting the lines. He bungled Coruscant pretty badly.
While I do like Law and Order, I think that they have planted some wrong ideas in your head. The police can get a warrant to tap your phone and they can use parabolic microphones to record conversations that you have say, in your backyard. (This is one of the ways that they got John Gotti). This doesn't apply to conversations that are privileged, like to your doctor, lawyer or priest. Now if the lawyer is aiding in criminal activities, than I believe that the privilege no longer applies.
When evil Jet says "I am Yulaw, and I'm nobody's bitch! You are mine." I about crapped myself laughing. It's true that it's a Highlander ripoff, but I'd rather see this again than Highlander 2. Zeist? WTF?
I don't think that this is a problem unless it hurts the performance of other games. Quake 3 is still used as a benchmark, so it's understandable why they would want the performance higher. With ATI's past performances with their drivers, however, this is not something that will inspire knowledgeable buyers to go with ATI.
I've seen plenty of laptops with this problem, Dell, Compaq and others. Most manufacturers will not fix the chassis. Compaq considers the hinges part of the case and as far as they are concerned, that's cosmetic. I've dealt with angry customers about this and quite frankly, I agree with them.
Breaking news: Aplle doesn't CARE about windows, or about market share.
I guess that's why they are opening 20-30 stores across the United States. They have been doing fine for years without a retail presence, so why should they start now? You're a fool if you believe that Steve Jobs isn't interested in increasing market share.
At the end of the year, look at who had a higher profit margin.... Dell, Gateway, or Apple.
Profit margin has nothing to do with you. Dell has a greater marketshare, but since Apple has been milking suckers for years, their margins are higher. FYI, that's a BAD THING for you, the consumer. I like Apple stuff myself, but I won't be paying twice as much because it has some cool stuff that I can live without.
Game systems are often sold at a loss. The games themselves are what the companies make money on. The notable exception is Nintendo, who has of yet to sell a system at a loss.
I don't think the service really worked the way Sprint said it would. A friend of mine got it installed in his apartment (a special case apparently) and he had nothing but trouble from the start. Sprint told him that they tested to his apartment and that he would have the full 8Mbps speed on his connection. After it was installed, he was getting about 1 Mbps but it was bumped to 4 because we have a very good friend who worked in the ION division (I guess not anymore) in their network monitoring area. The voice service was crappy quality and he wasn't happy from the beginning. After two months he got DSL and never looked back. ION looked a lot better on paper than it worked out.
Privacy whiners could note that Blockbuster does not, with this ID card, know anything more or less than they did before.
Most likely they don't really know anything about you since most employees there are so lax. You are supposed to show TWO forms of picture ID to get a Blockbuster card, but that never happens. I cannot tell you how many times people came in, got a card, rented about $300 worth of video games and were never heard from again. Thank Christ I don't work there anymore.
Didn't ever seem weird to you that Jimbo was hanging out with that chick who had to be at least 15 years old, but his best friend Nelson was dating Lisa? Never sat right with me...
Will the families of the sailors get the remains? Or does the sea consume the body? Anybody know how that works? I read somewhere that the saltwater would break down the remains. Also, I guess that perhaps fish may have been at them.
I think they should get George Carlin to do a cameo, or maybe even Alex Winter... Pop quiz, hotshot. Somebody asks you which one played Bill and which one played Ted. What do you do? WHAT DO YOU DO?

All the above are correct except World Championship Wrestling. The WWF bought the WCW trademark and their tape library.
It looks ok, but I hope that I don't have to service these things. Hopefully they will be RMA to apple
Actually, until the slot-loading iMacs came out, the units had a decent sized fan under the CRT.

does that mean that my pets won't be waiting for me in Heaven?
umm, it's Kyle Gass, not Glass. They still rock though.
By the quart.

Christ, I can imagine the frigging traffic. It's bad enough when there isn't freight strewn around on the highway...

The "i" is supposed to stand for internet. This was the idea when Jobs' was high on crack for the idea of network computers.

Shoot the hostage.
If you really want to impress me, than you should not only build one of these from eMachines, but all eOnes... :)
