I have an astigmatism in one eye, and even WITH my glasses/contacts, my right eye is severely dominant. Given that, anything that relies on stereo vision (3d movies, "hidden picture" posters and etc) are lost on me.
Or all you pirates can sit back for a few minutes and wait on someone to figure out how to download and crack the SP...Bliz's WC3 patches were cracked in under 20 minutes, i'm betting 15 or so for XPSP1;)
You people are all talking about giving third party apps a chance with Joe Average...well, guess what? He doesn't care if the code is still there, or the libs load or not. He also probably prefers there's a way to go back to MS if in fact he likes IE over Opera. Some of us really do like MS stuff better, and dont use 3rd party things on principal.
Doesnt seem like there'd be much replay value in an online version of Myst (or in any version at all, IMHO) But, what does the multiplayer part add to it? Besides being able to watch the vets do the puzzles so you dont have to figure it out on your own
To all those complaining about the realism vs. fun of the game, there are some of us that do prefer games such as Operation Flashpoint, Rainbow Six, Rogue Spear and others that are basically "get shot or you're dead", ie, Realism is WHY we think they're fun.
These games almost always require more thinking, tactics, better reflexes and good communication as opposed to Quake et. al. And you still get to blast the crap outta something sooner or later.
Children today are not tech savvy. The vast majority know enough to operate a computer. perhaps they learn faster than an adult, but rarely do they learn more.
Macs last forever and retain their value much better than cobbled-together PCs
What, exactly does this mean? Similar to the idea of a new car retaining value? You mac guys must pawn your computers pretty often. I dont, i just upgrade. Besides, why is a school, which may well be running dumb terminals linked to a Pentium II fileserver on coaxial token ring networking concerned with upgrading hardware often and how long it lasts?
That entirely depends on the kids in question. Through my computer apps class, about a third of the kids were largely clueless, and i was being broadcast as having $clue > 0 by the teacher. as a result, i have never had so many girls yelling my name before. Sadly, after the class, they all pretended tehy didnt know me..
Yes. Try getting together for a gaming session when your DM and one player live 2 hours away at a college, the other one has a strict curfew and the third has "more important" things to do. If the toolset pans out like we all hope it will, it will be a godsend for our gaming sessions
I'd be more willing to bet the previous owner of the address was spammed into obvlivion, and you're just getting the leftovers of what s/he signed up for/got stuck with.
Seeing a picture of something is fine, but being able to touch something that was written 4,000 years ago is a much different experience. Funny how people seem to think a representation of something is just as good as seeing it in real life.
Well, if you're teaching a class, or translating the tablets, or doing some other such research, your goal is to learn something or teach something to someone else, not to have some kind of enlightening experience.
Ultima Online had plenty of options for crafting, but it loses its appeal when you see someone selling on eBay the exact same products your charcter labored to make. Guess whos stuff sells faster?
That's like saying i can have a '91 volvo for free, pay for a '98 Toyota corolla, or have a '02 Ferarri IF i let them cover the inside of the car with adverts. Your analogy is sound except for the fact that content is unequal between PBS, HBO and networks. If something sucks, even if it's free it might not be worth taking part of
This is a cool idea for those of you who were around when Atari was in it's heyday (geez i feel young sayin that..guess i am tho, the NES was my first console) But i think if they really want this to take off they need to release a couple of 'em, that encompass the entire game library, not just a few "best sellers"
That's good, only not. See the problem is when you do all that in the theater you disturb other people who paid to see the movie..at least you could wait until you're at home to buy the soundtrack or look for nude photos of the leading actress or whatever.
At least the pictures are dead..anyone got 'em mirrored?
I'm glad my newest favorite band is european, if i dont miss my guess that means not one thin cent of it goes to the xxAA
Hear hear!

Or just join the Marines ;-)
You can chat on Ka[a]za[a]? I honestly had no idea. I bet all four people who did chat on there will miss that.

No way they'd touch an auction from someone with zero feedback =)
Seriously though, that looks interesting, but I wonder how it will pan out for the winner. Hope he speaks Russian.
Nah you'll be sailing smooth as long as you have a wireless connection so you can publish the patch before you land =)

(It's a joke. laugh.)

University of Maryland doctoral student Daphne Soares holds the skull of a gator she calls "Sammy."
So, she names the dead ones? Interesting.

Just hope their latest round of games dont mysteriously develop problems once WinXP SP1 is out.
In all seriousness though, I'm glad to hear that at least some company is sticking up to MS....would be funny if more followed suit.
Regardless of EA's motives, i think this is a Good Thing(tm) for people who plan on console gaming online

They did something with mouse gestures in that crap game Black and White, they sucked in there...hope opera got it right
