The Onion is now freely distributed. While I never saw it in stores much, wasn't it a pay-paper a few years ago? Now it's circulated everywhere in the twin cities.
It started around the time The Onion's website got more ad-riddled.
Somtimes the battery meter confuses me. I just played it today with 2 pixels left on the battery meter(20gb ipod, purchased a month ago). It let me play it for 6 hours. Seems like it should have been less.
Some guy decided to wire a ps2 controller's switches to his parallel port. He then made some app that just brute forces all possible controler combinations. The result? he found quite a few brand new cheats for GTA San Andreas. With wireless, it would be that much easier.
My question is, how often do people get Nintendo consoles(which require a TV) to get together in one roof to play? I can imagine a bunch of kids with their DS's together for some network play, but with regular consoles, you need several TVs, several power outlets and room to house it all in. Nintendo LAN parties?
While the virtual boy as a whole failed(I had 2), I will give them credit on the controllers. They were real nice to use and had an ample supply of buttons.
I'm really curious why anyone would want to send applications to someone else's phone.
I can understand pictures, sure. I can understand sound, er. okay, we have voicemail for that. I simply cannot comprehend sending someone an application. A program, something executable. It is pure overkill. Why not just refer him/her to where you got the app from? That will centralize things a bit.
Applications are the new scapegoat for "things you can send to friends". Don't want to do it in email, now you don't want to do it on your phone. Viruses have ruined the fun for everyone.
one thing I like about ITunes is the easy streaming station options.
I swear(it's not in front of me right now) it tunes in live365 stations without going through some stupid ad-riddled web interface or having to register. Otherwise I can tune into stations WinAmp can tune into. Yay!
I forgot which linux distro it was, but it was several years ago. I had the choice of two install options
1. Developers 2. Administrators
It irked me a bit, seeing is there was no "average non-developer joe" configuration preset available. I guess the "administrator" is to administrate "developers". What do the "developers" develop for? They must develop for administators, or other developers. Yet "user" is nonexistant.
Or it will be just like when EP1 trailer was in the movies. People would pack a theater for some crappy movie, watch the previews, then leave when the movie starts.
Didn't RTFA but the spoiled comment made me raise an eye.
What user, regardless of OS would buy any hardware that had zero driver support? Developers who want a challenge?
BTW I'm gonna have to chuck my 5 year old Compaq laptop since I can't find Win2K drivers for the PCMICA port, sound, etc. I can't use the QuickRestor e CD since it was expecting a D backup partition there. Darn. But, I'm gonna give it a shot with Knoppix.
Even ATI acknowledges there will probably be no performance benefits to bumping the memory support from 256MB to 512MB as the cards are 'intended to demonstrate the next-generation capability to gamers."
Translation: Even though it's not practical, we'll sell it since gamers will buy it.
I'm hoping for a sequel to UbiSoft's best game EVER: VIP(Valerie Irons Protection). Yeah, put a sequence of buttons to hit on the screen to make valerie fight the bad guys, a crude shooting gallery and a slide-puzzle!
That'll reel in the profits from the uber-hit TV series.
The latest version of outlook pops up a little window on the lower right with a little bit of the body of the email. Extra linefeeds at the beginning show nothing.
That, and there's the mail icon in the systray. When you get tons of email at work, it gets a bit annoying.
I just really wish the Outlook rules system would get RID of the icon for a new type of mail message (in my case, the tons of out-of-the-office emails) that I have set to auto-trash.I have to empty my trash folder to get rid of it.
If I had points, I would have modded you up, and parent down. Ctrl+C was for terminating apps(DOS or unix), but doesn't mean it has to be permanently locked down to it in the GUI world.
1. I just still can't get over that lack of centralized window. I grew too used to a central window with PSP, Photoshop, Illustrator, and tons of other apps(MDI). I don't want an errant click accidentally clicking on a desktop icon. In Windows, I don't have multi-window desktop like on a typical X installation. Same goes for inkscape
2. (correct me if I get this wrong), multiple taskbar items. I would be happy with one, and the XP-style stacking is no substitute. Or is that just for inkscape?
3. Look at the screenshots. Are two file menus necessary? One for the image, and another for the tools? That to me seems like a waste of desktop real estate.
The screenshots with the super-huge menus/toolbars remind me of CNN, etc where they flood the screen with stock quotes, etc like on that SNL Skit("can we get a picture of the terminator robot up there?")
All of the screenshots have way too many big-ass dialogs, etc open. I want to see more of my image.
It's amazing to me how many games over the years use just random colors to indicate this or that. Often you don't get a clear red or green to indicate what you chose. Sometimes you get a ligher/darker shade of a color combo, or just 2 random colors. bad dialog!
I installed the power connectors from the PSU to the mobo backwards(back when you could do that). Fried a capacitor. Capacitor was replaced, worked just fine.
For the rare times I see my dad, i don't charge him a thing for his monnthly comptuer fixes. He did learn a lesson where he lost numerous photos's from my sister's graduation, since he paid $60 who essentailly reformatted his win2K setup(which I setup, TWICE!) to WinXP. No backups were made.
I did have to call a line where he had a friend who's son wanted a PC. You can guess who he wanted to help them. I drew a line and just gave them the number to Tran Microsystems(where I buy my systems at).
While I have made no money, I did get a free 40 gig hard drive that he unneccessarily purchased.
I know Kent Brockman is on TV, but he's so egocentric I think even he would like to hear his own voice on the radio. Who/what voice does the news when scripts call for it?
1. Road Rage - It was just a simpsons-themed Crazy taxi. Game got incredibly boring after awhile.
2. Hit & Run.I was actively playing this game until I got Katamari damacy(and then burnout 3).
They really could have gone further with H&R. With over 16 seasons of content, the missions ended up being "go from a to b". Congradulations, you just re-created Smuggler's Run in Springfield.
Whether it be minor or major characters, they could have fleshed out the missions to go beyond driving and stuff it full of fun references. How come no Kent Brockman on the radio whilst driving? Thankfully it only cost me $20, as it is no Grand Theft Auto.

Imagine finding cheat codes that much easier.

I suspect the TV detector vans were nothing more than a van and a guy with a list of addresses without a TV license.
//guess the reference
"Vyv, eat the tele!"

Mine's a presario 1200 xl106.

That reminds me, I'm going to start burning that cd now.

He's pointing out that, by providing a mirror, you might be taking hits away from the original content provider.
Well, if the original site was down due to slashdotting, there would be no hits in question to take away.
You know you have failed in the processor market when people are cooking up ideas to use your processors to cook food instead of crunch numbers.
I have trouble believing that something that makes a good security guard also makes a good children's toy...
Just attatch a giant weasel to it, and let it go in random directions. Bet that toy will get some attention in the Kay Bee Toys display.
Michael Jackson will be buying a reader!

Funny MS does this research.

I tried it last week.

Take a look at the Simpsons games.
