Absolutely no word of a lie, there is a car dealership in Brisbane, Australia owned/run by a guy called Mike Hunt. If that was your name, wouldn't you prefer to be called Mick or Michael or something?
Dude, don't worry too much about no GTA for GC. Go get True Crimes: Streets of LA by Activison. It's almost a GTA clone, but with a depth that leaves GTA for dead. It boasts branching storylines with multiple endings, an elaborate karma system, and an entire map of LA to drive around solving/committing crimes, the ability to carry multiple (and different) weapons (think uzi in one hand, sawnoff in the other), heaps of different vehicles to drive (no choppers or bikes though, d'oh!) plus a bunch off other cool things to do. I found it a much more rewarding experience than GTA, which left me feeling a little ripped off. Check it out, it's currently my favourite game.
I'm sorry, but I agree with the parent poster. A good car alarm will only prevent the car itself from being stolen, and certainly cannot prevent a break-in. The best security is to have nothing of any value displayed openly in your car. A loud alarm only serves as a deterrent if the thief actually thinks somebody will answer the alarm. I'm sorry, but the mall I used to work at had car alarms going off all day, and not once did I ever see or hear of anybody stopping what they were doing to contact the police. If you've got a nice new camera on the back seat of your car, the only thing the alarm is going to do is shout "hey, I just got robbed!".
Speaking of cheap locks, did you know that the Hyandai Excel 1998-2001 models can ALL be opened by a quick, sharp punch fonzie-jukebox-style between the driver's door handle and the window sill? It only takes a couple of goes to get the spot and the pressure right, but once you've got it they may as well remain unlocked. I used to work for Hyundai in Austraia, and was quite suprised when a engineer showed me how easy it was. (No wonder they try to sell you a security system with it!)
Actually, I have been in contact with EMKA Steven O'Rourke Management (Pink
Floyds Australian Reps) and they assure me that when copyright is agreed by all parties and a 5.1 mix is done a DVD of Pulse will be released. The problem is that Rogers Waters and David Gilmour won't play friendly with each other any more. Neither of them will release their rights to it if it means the other will make some money off it. Never mind the fans, it's all about screwing your ex-band members.
And if you miss counterstrike that much, you could install Q3A and the urban terror mod at www.urbanterror.net which is very good. (In my opinion, superior.)
Hmmm, i agree with most of your post, but I just want to comment on your assertion "Where it shone was on MP on XBox". I've played it to death, and to be honest, I can't help but think the only reason it garnered such praise as there was no real competition for a 1st person shooter (esp. for MP) on the XBox. Xbox owners lapped it up, PC owners seemed to release a collective "meh..." I personally think Timesplitters 2 is a far superior game in every way, yet the hype machine makes HALO sound like the greatest game ever produced (another reason I think people seem disappointed when they finally played it).
What I used to love about the game packaging for NES (and n64 for that matter) was that the box wasn't needed. I'd get home with my new package, carefully open the box, then break down the box so it was flat and pack them all away between a couple of books. I mean, who puts the cartridge back in the boxes between games anyway? It made a HUGE difference when you came to sell or trade the games, and you got a lot of raised eyebrows at the local game shop when you rolled up to trade a game that has been out for 10 years and the packaging is still IMMACULATE. I guess they were just used to seeing torn boxes, with dog-eared or missing manuals.
I read that the name PSX came from the developmental period between Nintendo deciding not to do the cd add-on for the SNES and create the N64 instead, with Sony turning the project into a full blown console, ie: Play Station eXperimental. The game media picked it up, and have stuck with the development name because, I assume, (as you say) it just sounds cool.
You can if you like, but having owned all three, the PS2 has far inferior graphics to the other two consoles in my opinion. Strangely, most gamers I know agree, except for those who bought PS2's. Go figure.
You're kidding right? The PS2 only looks marginally better than the PS1. Both the XBox and Gamecube have far superior graphics, with little to no slowdown (in most of the games I own, anyway). In fact, everytime i see PS2 games demo'd these days there seems to be one noticable thing; The graphics are very ordinary.
I'm not so sure. I expect you mean Sonic Battle Adventure, and i've played that game numerous hours and finished it a number of times on the GCN, and never had any problems. Are you sure it wasn't just a damaged disk?
Playing GTA for an hour pretty much gives you the whole game. I do like mindless killing though, just saying it's a very overrated game.

My experiences seemed to go a bit more extreme than that. I have a pretty active social life, I play guitar in a couple of bands and have a few other hobbies outside the home. I found that over time, I started looking at home like I used to look at the office. You know that feeling you get when you walk into your cubicle in the morning and your heart sinks? Well, I started getting that feeling at home every time I turned the key in the front door, which kinda defeats the purpose of escaping the cubicle farm. I realised that the most important thing is to seperate the work environment from home, otherwise you have nowhere that feels like home. I moved all the office and computer stuff into the rumpus room out the back and hung a proper door, so I could close it and walk away, and not think about it till the next working day. I know it's mostly psychological, but that doesn't change the fact that humans need somewhere they can retreat and feel safe and let their hair down where they feel totally comfortable, and if you can't do that in your own home, what's left?
I know what you mean about Animal Crossing:) I just bought it for my GF last month to soften the blow of the 4 games I bought for myself, and now I can't get near the bloody thing to play my new games! The Zelda classic bundle hasn't come on sale here in Australia yet (that I can find, anyway) but I think your on to something... a second GCN will solve all my problems.

Hold Shift then right-click.

Yea, i'm looking forward to XP Revolutions, but i'm afraid it will be worse than the first two.

Yep, I lived on the QLD Sunshine Coast as a kid, and our phone number was definitely 6 digits.

Soldier of Fortune 2 is also out for the Mac.

You're about to break my heart about baby oil too, aren't you?
Now that's romance!

Dude, just use the google cache for those particular pages, that's how I get around it at work :P

Damn straight. HALO is only "good", not "great" IMHO. Timesplitters 2 is a far superior game, especially in playability and replay value.

Ahh, but the important question is can you pee on Gary Coleman?

Buddy, you need to grease up your reel. You could hear the bearings squeal on that cast...
