ID makes most (see: insane ammounts) of their money from licensing their engine for other games. There is no way in hell they are going to make it an xbox only engine. And even if they released the engine on other platforms they need Doom 3 as the benchmark for what it can do.
The writer falls into the trap that most do, assuming Windows is THE perfect operating system. And, it's not, there are just as many faults in installation as there are in Linux.
See thats the thing. XP is far from being perfect. But after experiencing Linux to many people it makes Windows XP look perfect compared to it.
Theres either two things that can happen when you show someone linux: 1) If they are hardcore geeks they might like it (I am a geek and I hate it, as do most people I know) 2) They will see it and go back XP loving it more then ever before.
Do you see the problem? I do.
No one appreciates this april fools shit here. And if you're gonna attempt to make a joke don't try and make it as dry as humanly possible for fucks sake.
Can we have an option to block out april fools shit?
If there was, or is, life on Europa the chances are pretty good that some organic material would make its way to the surface with the ice.
What we need to do is send an orbiter to take pictures of the surface to find the most likely spot for organic materials (maybe a place where water from undernearth the surface has escaped rescently?) and sent a craft there to investigate.
People used to go the arcades because the arcade games were so much better than the consoles. Now you go to the arcade and you see games that don't look good as what you just saw on your PC at home.
Arcades are a in a huge box yet the only have a little board in there with a big TV. Make use of that space, put a quad processor in there if you have to, put the latest in graphics technology, a GeForceFX or a R9700.
Arcades are supposed to show us what can one day be in our living rooms, not the other way arround. Its like going to the worlds fair to see a product you already have.
Perhaps in typical North American areas. But what about in Japan? Arcades are still huge in japan. Microsoft has a very weak grip on the japanese market and maybe if they put some of their games in japanese arcades the japanese will start buying X-boxes.
Perhaps for you but I have tried all of the major distros and none of them have worked for my Wi-Fi card.
I once got Redhat 8 to work with it, but after I rebooted it didn't work anymore.
I once got RedHat 7.2 to work with it (for good) and then I upgraded to 8. I tried to duplicate this elsewhere and it did not work.
Its very inconsistent.
I've never gotten mandrake to see any wireless cards on any of my computers.
The only computers that did manage to get working (with redhat 7.2) are laptops.
If Linux Distros want to keep up with other real operating systems they should realize how popular wi-fi is now and make it as easy as Windows XP or OS X to setup. This would be a good opportunity to show up Windows XP because it works, but it could be a whole lot better.
How about: we can't do anything about it right now because people aren't willing to invest in a project that researches ways of moving asteroids. Spotting an asteroid years before it hits us gives the chance for the world to work together to work on a plan to get rid of it and try several times. Giving it a nudge while its still years away its more likely to affect its path near Earth then it is to hit it a bit when its right near us.
I was not trolling, or atleast I did not intend to.
What I should (and ment) to say was that a small percentage of large critical sites uses php.
Yes Yahoo! does plan on using php but that is only one large site that I know. PHPs main usage is on small to medium sized sites usually with a small crew of developpers.
I'd like you to point out a large retailer that uses php for its online store, or an online banking site.
JSP is the main approach used by developpers for large critical sites.
But its not stuck between the laptop and the AP. Its stuck ON the AP. If the incoming signal can be amplified then its strong enough for the AP to pick it up in the first place.
Woz was alright, for the first 30-45 minutes he was really awkward and stuttering as he read the cue cards but towards the end of the show he relaxed and did a decent job. Give him a few more shots and I am sure he'll be great.

Doom 3 _will_ come out for the PC.
If its obviously not true then why post it? Just trying to please the microsoft trolls?
Umm because it has to decode the sound? Also QuickTime is pretty slow.

I'd rather they release the source code for their 2d games!
Man that was fun.

Come on taco, this is April Fools day, not Groundhog day starring Bill Murray.
If you had even bothered to read the review you of noticed that the reviewer mentions that the book explains how to setup PHP Nuke.
But I thought that was the asteroid in India.
Or maybe it was the asteroid in the ocean.
Everytime they find evidence of a crater its always the one that killed the dinosaurs.
Who says we have to go beneath the surface?

Those are just PC's running windows hooked up to a big TV and a custom controller.
Sure it's like an Xbox, but its not.

No one uses PHP at an enterprise level, nor is it ready to be used in such a manner.

I better retract my email to wired that nominated FreeBSD 5.0 RC2 as the biggest vapourware.
Its a good thing most new users can't setup CUPS and just disable ;)
