Well, everyone should read that book, but you in particular might enjoy it, since it's chock full of bizarre touristy attractions that you might enjoy.
The crazy weaponry in Anvil of the Stars, by Greg Bear. Been a while since I read it, but as I recall, the crew of this ship discovered how to "edit" matter, and used this offensively against the aliens who destroyed Earth.

The implications for it are pretty chilling, if you really get down to think about it as David Brin did in this article. George Lucas seems to think that those 26 people are destined to control the fate of the galaxy, and all us peons, with our "free will", don't matter one whit. Just one more reason why Star Trek kicks the hell out of Star Wars.
Hehe, a bit older than that.
From Sierra's own site:
"TF2 named: 'Best Action Game', 'Best Multiplayer Game', E3 1999".
Just imagine how good it's got to be by now!
A curious phenomenon....

Why are the best comics, an American medium, written by Brits?
How the hell is a human neural system supposed to react faster than software in a computer system? That's what really bugs me. That, and the blatant disregard for the Laws of Thermodynamics. And Keanu Reeves.
Is it just me, or are a lot of those effects really obviously computer generated? Granted, I won't be able to freeze frame a movie when I'm watching it, but still, I am left wholly disappointed; it's almost as bad as it was in Blade 2 or that one scene in Spider-Man.
I haven't read any of the new Dune books, so I can't comment on their quality. But it certainly seems to me that to pin down all the nitty gritty details sucks the mystery out of Herbert's rich backstory, and dampens the impact these events had on the characters in his story. Wouldn't you prefer to know that, at some time in the distant past, there occurred some struggle so critical that ten thousand years later computers were still abominations? The spirit of Herbert's future history seems much more important than the facts. (aside: this is why I don't read Star Trek novels, because so many of them focus on the technobabble instead of the crew. But the new DS9 books are really excellent, if I may say so.) Anyhow, that's how it seems to me.
More: Brak, Sealab, Harvey Birdman, Space Ghost, Futurama
Less: Giant robot series with poorly-dubbed and -written relationships instead of any freakin' giant robot fights.
So why exactly are you complaining?
I don't know how it works at any other download sites, but if you go to www.starwars.com it won't let you download the hi-res version without Quicktime Pro. What gives? I want my free, bandwidth-consuming movie trailers, and I don't want to pay for them!
You haven't read Catch-22, have you?

Signal to Noise and A Signal Shattered are two of my favorites; cyberpunk, but with an alien twist, and....they're awesome, trust me.
Booze money.
Wasn't there an episode where Geordi used one of these to explore hazardous environments?

No no no, you've got it mixed up: "It's not Halo made by bad Microsoft", it's "Halo made bad by Microsoft". Your dilemma is solved!
Deep Throat in ASCII!!

I'd hope Bill Gates would be so kind as to loosen our tracking collars in 2013.
I'd be safe, then. Guess what I use?
When I think about Duke Nukem Forever, the word "ubiquitous" does not come to mind.

Anybody else read this article about viral marketing? Deja vu.
I agree wholeheartedly. I have to ask though, are you channeling Chris Farley channeling The Incredible Hulk?

Since when do I have to pay for Quicktime Pro to watch the hi-res trailers?
