The problem is people are using UT2004 as a benchmark. Which is not good since that game has a relatively good engine.
Try using Enemy Territory or Tomb Raider AOD, these are games with mediocre engines and don't perform that well even with some of the best graphics card in the market. I got an ATI Radeon 9800 and both games don't run nearly as smooth as UT2004.
Every season I rent a ton of sports games, and I would say 80% of the time I find sega's lineup to be the best. My brother owns an Xbox and PS2 and he has yet to buy one M$ based sports game. He claims the 2004 series are literally comparable to Sega/EA sports games in 2002.
Back in the beginning of 2001, M$ was looking for a storage provider type company to backup www.hotmail.com.
The goal was to do an average 100TB cumulative/incremental backups on a daily basis followed by a huge full backup in the weekend. To my knowledge, not one storage service provider ever took on the job since the subscription cost of backuping the domain won't cover tape library and software expenses until 2050 or something ridiculous. Yes, I did work at one of these providers. Many of the storage service provides actually went out of business by now. I wonder where M$ is today. At least you now know M$ never had efficient data maintainance.
In Asian countries there is a fashionable trend and social acceptance to wearing these newly looking watches.
Like the Casio G-shocks and other hi-tech watches, they sold like hot cakes in the mid 90s. It wasn't until the year 2000 before they start making an appearance in the U.S. This TV watch will probably be a super trend in Asia for years before people start buying it in U.S.
Way back people used to trade items on college campus for diablo weapons and armor. That is... until the cheats came out and completely destroyed the trading system.
For any peripheral to be a success especially on a console, it MUST come with the system. NES zapper made it because people didn't have to shell out $$ for it. If this glove comes with a PS3 or something, it too will have a good chance.
Well, they are dubbed over. It's not artificial moaning, it still came from another human being. So Jenna Jamison's moan probably derived from the director's daughter or wife working cheaply in the studio.
Is this thing better than Gnutella, Kazaa or some other P2P software. Better yet does this software handle spyware issues better? I don't think there is enough patches to go around patching my already over-patched system.
Honestly developed parts of the world will become more developed. Poor parts of the world will become more poor. And future millionaires can compound interests for centuries. Damn what a mess.
Boy you must not do anything with high bandwidth. Cause I know living off 10baseT back in college was a disaster. The kid down down your hall play a little quake, and your network is done for the day. 100baseT was upgraded then, but it wasn't a whole lot better.
Sun is one of those companies that still struggle to market anything. Even in their hay day I thought they marketing was aweful. Much of what's popular in the consumer world became that way thru the word of mouth from engineers here and there.
Now Sun is marketing open source. Whoopie. Not to bash Sun but this is just another headline with no push behind it.
And just like Hong Kong and all these other cramped up asian countries. It costs $20 US to rent a basketball court for an hour, here in the US we got free ones at every public school. Streets are not packed to the point where you rub shoulders with everybody.
Japan needs to stop bragging about gig fibre in every kid's bedroom etc etc.

Yeah so many slashdot articles have come up with good books, good engines, free engines. After so many failed attempts, I always get no result in the end.
Either this stuff is impossible to document, or it just plain changes too fast.
Whenever someone steps up to turn down money from M$, that's a ballsy move. I'd give him credit.
Now we just hope he's not accepting some other gifts (cough...) porsches and ferraris instead of money.
Instead of installing the hotfix, wouldn't the fix technically be just blocking ports 445, 113, 3067?

I know of someone who actually tried the Segway out, and judging by his usually calm personality, the machine was quite an experience for him.
They have got to let more people try this thing one way or another. Otherwise it'll just become urban legendware.

That just sounds scary.

So how much will the pricing of the 40GB iPod drop? I'd like to buy some as gifts if it was affordable. Anything over $200 is plain crazy.

I got a TI-85 for years, and it has beaten/outperformed every calculator including calculator software on windows.

OMG you are the 10th person to respond to my sig. Amazingly you guys all same the same thing.

Does anyone have a car list for GT4 final? I could really care less about the demo right now.
I think the intro to the show covers it all. A human race becoming super advanced then wiped out itself and rebuilding.
On any given day these are my top CPU hogging activities.
1.) Games
2.) M$ Apps
3.) Firewall Apps

That game sounds like a complete FF rip off. I am still trying to decide which title is worse.... this or phantom dust.

Best board game on the planet. Come on now, it's got mouse, pussies and gadgets. How can you go wrong.
