This is the official top 500 list of supercomputers (not updated yet although thunder is mentioned as '*possibly* the second-most powerful computing machine on the planet'). Linux moving up to second place (from fifth a bit ago, iirc), woohoo! Only one left to beat!
Also, the LET keyword (especially when stored tokenized) is a nice way to more efficiently distinguish between identifiers and language keywords. If LET is obligatory, such as in some old BASIC versions, the word following LET is always an identifier. As most early BASICs were interpreters rather than compilers, this really helped speed up interpretation.
Of course, at some point a lot of BASIC interpreters/editors adapted the concept of tokenizing/pre-parsing entered lines during input, rather than during the interpretation stage. The benefits were obvious: Tokenized code costs less space to store, and after pre-parsing the code once, the need for LET was no longer there.
Not sure about correlation between remembering digits and intelligence, but a friend of mine sure freaked out when I could cite back her credit card number from memory a few days later.
If the software is being developed for free, somehow those people must have another source of income, such as a job for instance. If those people have jobs, how can the government possibly miss on income tax?
Now let's assume those people get by *without* a job still developing software for free, same question - if there's no job in the first place, how does the government miss out on income tax?
...they might as well pay for icons. In fact, operator logos for mobiles are paid icons too. It's not all that different really. That said, I personally wouldn't pay for ringtones either.
Most people (I know there are peculiar non-standard devices that deviate) are still using a 2D device (mouse) Adding an extra dimension doesn't have to be all that fancy. Scroll mouse anyone? To keep scrollbar functionality separated from 3d movement, it would be thinkable to use rightclick/scroll.
Where you have a "window" with a "button", we have a "fonster" with a "knapp". So, yes, "Windows" really is a non-word, and it rightly becomes a big, relevant problem for Lindows. So, solved then. All they have to do is rename the product 'Lonsters' in Sweden, 'Lensters' in Holland, 'Lenetres' in France, 'Lanelas' in Portugal,...

...the size of the 'sweet spot'. In a regular 2 channel stereo recording, the only place where the recording sounds 'right' is in the middle. If you move to one side, the perceived middle of the stereo image moves as well. These speakers attempt to solve this by reconstructing the wave front of the original sound wave, so that it corresponds as much as possible with the original. In plain language, kinda like the difference between a regular stereo image and a hologram which can be viewed from different angles. Of course, using a regular stereo recording will *still* not give 'holographic' sound, so for now the manufacterers settled for attempts to increase the size of the sweet spot. And yes, the bose speakers that bounce sound off the walls are based on the same principle.
I'd rather have a system with 100 security holes a year that all get fixed in hours than a system with 10 security holes a year that get patched months later if at all (think Windowe). C'mon, see the beauty of how smart they are. Just a few days ago they claimed to fix bugs quicker than us open sourcerers, remember?
While I'm at it, I did an apt-get install mozilla-nss, this was found by configure but make still complained about not finding header files. if you copy these to the src/plugins/ssl directory, the compile continues fine.
tried installing 0.71 and got an error 'Protocol MSN failed to load." -- This can be fixed by installing SSL support first, THEN running./configure, make and make install. SSL support reportedly can be installed with apt-get install gnutls7-dev, good luck all!

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.
Look for 'estupido' on google and the first hit is that of the Portuguese government.

Billy is showing how MS gives people a choice.
