Actually, aren't most of these features built in already? It's built into the Options -> Privacy tab.
According to the article, "privacy mode" would do the following:
* Discard all cookies acquired during the private session.
* Not record sites visited to the browser's history.
* Not autofill passwords, and not prompt the user to save passwords.
* Remove all downloads done during the session from the browser's download manager.
All of those things can be set on the Privacy tab, in Options. Am I wrong?
and this after all that progress had been made to represent video gaming as a legitimate athletic sport. I guess we can say goodbye to Olympic "Counter Strike" competitions.

So he is basically screwing everybody associated with Linspire, like he screwed everybody associated with MP3.com? If it smells like a rat, it must be Michael Robertson.
The other title for this article could have been "CBS buys domain name 'news.com' for $1.8 billion, also gets some website thrown in for good measure".
All articles seem to point to a new 360 SKU with "built in" Bluray, so are we to believe that they have abandoned the "add-on" idea? It seems to me that an "add-on" would be better as it would prevent the alienation of the early adopters.
They've been repeatedly telling us that the minority of users use the majority of the bandwidth (for P2P). So why would they tax the majority of users then? Of course it makes no sense.
From the article:
While Neale admits the professor stipulated the online homework questions were to be done independently, she said it has long been a tradition for students to brainstorm homework in groups... It sounds like the professor explicitly stated that the rules of the assignment, and anyone caught breaking the rules would be at his mercy. It's his class and he can make up his own rules. He's the one who assigns the grades. It might be a good idea to follow his rules.
It appears that the analysts agree that both sides lost, and that Sony and Toshiba just should have agreed to work together from the start. While they were battling it out, wasting time and lots and lots of money, their enemies got stronger (download services got better, and upconverting technology improved).
I guess, after all, a format war is just like any other war - there are no winners, only losers, but one side loses a little less.
Yes, there is a clear distinction between feeling a little depressed because your team lost, and being Clinically Depressed, yet most people don't get the difference, and these drugs are then "abused".
I really hope more research is done using these findings, because there could be an unwanted side effect (pardon the pun). The last thing we need are more ignorant anti-psychology/psychiatry types screaming "See! I told you it was all a scam!". Clinical depression is as real as Cancer or AIDS, and it's just as difficult to treat.
However, those with clinical depression are always told to "pull yourself up by your bootstraps", and "get over it, it's normal". You never hear people saying that to Cancer patients.
For the doubters, let me put it in easy to understand terms: Saying depression is a normal part of being human is like saying the Earth is flat, or that nobody needs more than 640k of RAM.;)
I know Starbucks are ubiquitous with all those jokes about them being across the street from each other, but read this quote:
Bauhaus has thrived despite all of the Starbucks shops that have popped up around it: 15 within half a mile, and 38 within one mile.
So that's 38 Starbucks in one square mile? That's what it sounds like.
Yes it may be orphaned, but these folks are getting one of the finest upconverting players available, that just happens to have thousands of HD DVD discs already available for it.
If you think what Toshiba is doing it unethical, then how about what the BD group did by releasing 1.0 players that they knew might become obsolete so soon.
It's actually a nice gesture on N's part because with less ads, fewer kids will demand it and then (here's hoping) the ebay black market will cool off a bit.
But what if your connection was let's say, wireless and ubiquitous, and had the bandwidth to stream instantly. Would you still throw away your DVDs? I wouldn't. Call me crazy, but I like to watch my movies and listen to my music "off the grid".
It's much more fun to just complain that Vista is the worst OS ever. I was forced to use Vista because it came on my laptop and XP drivers are not available yet. I spent 15 minutes tweaking Vista (Defender, UAC, Classic UI theme and start menu, etc), and voila, I now have an XP machine. Well, actually it's XP but without all the problems that XP had when it debuted.
The Wii was designed for a game like this. Imagine the potential of four players with Wiimotes. If they don't design this game from the ground up for the Wii, it would be a major travesty.
"Such a feat should be possible soon"
One top scientist was quoted as saying, "It's so easy a caveman could do it".
Apparently residents from Manhattan will be watching closely and anxiously taking notes on how this gets resolved.

Why is everybody bashing his review?
Okay, somebody had to say it.

Well, they should also remove murder, carjacking, and prostitution out of respect for those victims as well.
;)
Just kidding. We all know that prostitution is a victimless crime.
Can you stamp an asterisk on a Nobel Prize?
Sounds like a great place to open a hat store - of the tin foil variety.
If they keep making decisions like this (pushing Safari as an iTunes update), then they are sure to join the hated ranks of Microsoft soon.

Especially since he only spent $440 on the whole project. Most slashdotters spend more than that on a VIDEO CARD.
Unless it's taught by Anthony Michael Hall, you can forget about it.
