When RedHat decided to throw in the towel for any real distro (well, as real as it got), I decided it was time to find something that was a bit more.. small. I tried Gentoo but as fun as it was it didn't do what I wanted on my servers.. Debian I can do exactly what I want.
Actually that IS quite interesting, lost my mod points yesterday would have modded up. Not saying we should throw a probe into Jim's head and kill him, but imagine monitoring animals or even people that are soon dying (that would consent ofcourse).. I don't know.
Does anyone actually see how it could be fun to play this game massively multiplayer? I enjoy MMORPG's that are based in medieval or old oriental times.. but the idea of commanding groups of crap around some big world just don't really appeal to me.
It was science.. It still is. It shows what happens when you don't respect what power these things truly have -- or to reword it, shows you that you should always respect something that you barely have under control.
Blue Angel for sale Navy plane shows up on eBay Nicole Lozare @PensacolaNewsJournal.com After almost 50,000 hits in two days, no one is buying what Mike Landa is selling on eBay. Everyone just wants to know how he acquired the Navy Blue Angels' F/A-18 Hornet. Landa and Associates of Washington state is selling the jet for $1,050,000 - some assembly required.
Maybe the lack of people buying implies not everyone has a few million sitting around?
was on a Windows trading website (they trade old/new beta's of windows software for tinkering).. This little project isn't very legal at all, if anything, this attention its getting may get them a nice little memo for Microsoft. They are basically stripping down a piece of the new installer for windows and turning it into a small OS for simple applications.. I mean, a good idea and all and sounds fun but its just going to piss off Microsoft..
I'm sure many of us want to pick at the code, but is it really worth it at the moment? Now that so many news orgs have made it well known, wouldn't it be fairly dangerous to try to grab a copy in the next comming hours? I mean, this must piss both MS and the US Gov off....with that said.. cant some troll be useful and..
You guys are not giving them any credit, which is wrong. They didn't want to mod it into another computer, they used it as a case. I for one think its a very good case, as they intended it. I don't care what they did to the screen, it looked cool. Give them credit, they tried.
got my copy of GTA:VC from Palm Beach. I live an hour or so away. Its funny that people would make such a fuss about it, as fun as it is to blow up the police car and pick up hookers, its only a game.
Parents should teach their children respect for humans and that such games are nothing to be expected of in real life. Its rating implies already it shouldn't be given to young kids, not to mention, doesn't this just start cutting down what America is founded on, freedom? I can understand control to a level, but I do believe the level is met when we have a group that rates games.
Mom's need to read the box before buying the game for little johny, not just because he wants it.
Perhaps this opens up hacking up our "EFI" based on linux? To be honest I never saw BIOS's being anything that really needed to be changed. Simple and does what it should, let the OS handle the rest (this may seem crazy to some but whichever:))
Makes for fun when you stick your recently drunken friend thats passed out after chugging water, when you stick their hand in a bucket of nice warm water....
Always pondered over this. If you were faced with being destroyed, why not removing names and such from the code and leak it out? I'm sure its not very legal.. but how are they going to force you to acknowledge its yours? I mean, they spent how long fighting with SCO just to show code that they themselves are ranting on about, Microsoft fought it off too, why cant you just say you accidently deleted it?:P
What bugs me is that it seems everything always wants to begin controlling something once it gets large. The internet exists because people decide on their own to support it. Now some want the UN to control it. The great thing about the internet is its lack of control by really anything. As much as I may disagree with Hate sites, places with sick behaviour and such I wouldn't give up my own ability to do what I want just so a group of people who know nothing of the Internet can try to control it. I think this is about time when we all should start looking into other ways into building an internet of our own.
So while you listen to your massive collection of 5 groups that have yet signed to one of these people, I'll be listening to the music I have, all 5 days of it, that the RIAA will never see.
Went searching for a place to buy older computer parts for an old server I've been working on. A friend pointed me to a 'repair' shop that supposedly would buy massive containers of computer parts, find what works, and sell it cheap. This place was no where near any commercial streets or buildings, behind a fence, in someones house. We walked up, and this weird lady with freaky eyes peered at me and was like "Who are you?" I said what my friend told me and they said "We only service Gateway computers here". I looked over and saw a laptop LCD sitting on a dirty plastic table that usually would have a umbrella standing in the center of it. Past that was a rusty old garage with computer parts stacked in it. They kept questioning who I was.. We decided to leave.
Tall people are easily seen, thus all the mindless people who need assistance see their head bopping above the cubes and calls for them! then later gets a raise for his good work.
What about people like me who have lost natural depth perception using their eyes? When I was 3 my right eye squinted alot. I had an operation to fix it however it was never properly fixed, so I seem to be looking straight at someone, but still only seeing them with one eye.
Basically.. i figure when it comes to 3d, as much as i love the concept I wont ever be able to see it properly, which will hurt me in the long run with computers i believe. Is there any alternatives to seeing 3d? or different 3d systems that have other ways of projecting stuff? Arg:\ Its really bugged me for years now.

You know, I used to get away with using a P233 until about two years ago.. now its like I need a 2.5GHz box anytime I touch something..
AMD AthlonXP 2200+ 1.8GHz
512MB DDR Memory
GeforceFX 5200 Dual-out VGA
Game runs laggy as shit. Looks nice though, amazing graphics, but laggy as shit.
maybe this is an attempt to increase piracy thus they can sue more people?
there is a difference between a game where you have 8 players and a game that you have 10,000+ players per server..

I'm guessing this is you trying to make a IRC chat.. well.. Can't have ()'s in IRC ;)

shows where your stuff goes when being repaired.
u go d00d. kick ass. I wish I could do what you've done by now, though.
In other news Slashdot fined $2000 per link click on a news article about Google that caused Google to be fined 1500 euroes with each search.
