it would make sense that SOMEONE, not me or you, IS responding to the spam and buying things in order for make it worthwhile for the spammers, no?... and this is what i find interesting... i'd like to know who these people are...
Your friend's case is sort of like spontaneously repairing a cut trace on the motherboard of a computer. This case is more like the extra floating point unit in the processor reconfiguring itself to replace a damaged instruction decoder.
NOW it all makes sense. speaking in a language we can understand...
well, here in the best buy flyers (in canada) we see a tiny ** next to every device marked as HDTV or HD-Ready. This morning I was curious and looked very hard around the page. It took me a while to find, in very teeny print at the bottom of the page, seperate from the * comment (you'd think they'd be right after each other), I found the line that says 'requires HD source'. You'd think that for something like this they'd write it in the item description, like 'batteries sold seperately', or 'does not include stand'.
its almost like there's a consipiracy going on. maybe they just don't want people to know that only a few channels are available in HD and avoid them getting dissapointed. better for them to _think_ that they have HD and watch their favorite actors fatter and shorter than the actually are - its just a 'feature' of HDTV.
at the end of the day, its not technology that teaches kids. technology is merely a tool that may be used to increase the efficiency of the process. its a sad fact that many people do not see this.
1. its on a pair of sunglasses - ok its great for outdoors when its sunny, but if you either wear glasses, or spend a good deal of time indoors, or out at night, you can't really use them
2. you can't change the earbuds. what happens if you want to replace them with better sounding ones? i guess you could cut the cord and attach new ones onto it, but i'm sure not everyone's willing to perform the surgery.
now if the mp3 player component was detacheable, or if the frame could be used with prescription lenses that change colour in the sunlight, then we're talking...
true. Until the day they figure out how to make it so only people who paid for the music can _hear_ the sound, they can never fully control replication of audio. It doesn't take much to make a very good analog copy of a CD and reconvert it. Yes you will lose some data through the D2A A2D, but I bet it'll be hard for the majority of users to notice the difference. After all, its the masses they're worried about - the select few audiophiles who can hear the difference aren't likely to be doing as much copying in the first place.
Now we have to change from a marker to sticky tape... soon they'll probably make us get white-out as well to circumvent the next generation of copy protection...
I think sony has a secret alliance with office supply manufacturers - the losses in copyright material will be offset by increased furniture sales...:P
Take for example the ending to Jane Eyre -- 'MadwyfSetsFyr2Haus'. Was ever a climax better compressed?" said Sutherland, this year's chairman of the judges for the Man Booker literature prize.
Thats not the 'ending' of the book... I'm reading it right now.
just use two pieces of buttered bread!

-drag and drop functionality for ALL files
then i'm totally getting one. those two above points are what kept me away from the iPod (even free ones offered by TD Canada, etc).-decent mic input, as well as a line input for uncompressed recordings

i see two main problems with this:
