This fine article states that although "More than 1 million people have complained to the Federal Trade Commission that annoying telemarketing calls haven't stopped -- even after they've registered with the do-not-call registry, [...] FTC Chairwoman Deborah Platt Majoras said that "thousands" of consumers complained that they received telephone solicitations for DirecTV."
The CNN article linked originally above states, "Majoras said the DirecTV case accounted for 1.4 million complaints."
I'm thinking that the CNN article got its facts wrong here...

Dear Mr King of the Pirates,
We happen to own a lot of songs that are not in your collection. We would love to send a couple of people over to provide you with the songs that you are missing. Can you please send us your home address and what you look like? We'll be right over.
Sincerely, The Recording Industry Association of America
I believe the 49.7 days of uptime for a Windows 95 box is a new record, shattering the previous record in Norway of 27.9 days back on January through February of 2001. Congratulations!
A search for 'search' returns a list of websites that all contain the word search in their domain name, none of them are any of the good ones - Google, AV, Yahoo, and (even!) MSN.
It sure looks like they place a heck of a lot of weight on a search term if it's in the site's domain name. I think their algorithm needs a lot more tweaking if that's true.
Does anyone know if they fixed the bug where the Venkman Debugger (using either -venkman as a parameter or x-jsd:debugger in the address box) comes up as a blank window under Windows XP?
Well, there is a monthly "features" mail that i get on my hotmail account from "staff@hotmail.com" that cannot be blocked cannot be marked as "junk mail"
Actually, you can block those e-mail by going into Options, Custom Filter, and creating a rule that states, "Deliver mail that contains staff@hotmail.com in the from addr to my Junk Mail folder."
I'm a happy owner of four OmniKey keyboards with the CTRL key to the left of the A, the ALT key at the bottom left, and the otherwise useless CAPS-LOCK key below the Z and X keys.
Is it just my upbringing in the Unix world, or am I just the only one who is utterly in the dark why modern day keyboard have the CTRL, ALT, and CAPS-LOCK keys where they are? Do people really use the CAPS-LOCK key any more? I find it to be a useless and otherwise annoying key.
Yes, I know I can switch the keys around using the registry under Windows. But, what a pain.
They forgot to list one of the most obvious ways of breaching computer security measures: social engineering.

It looks like the latest phpBB version 2.0.11 or a simple patch will thwart the worm, though. Time to upgrade if you haven't yet!
Aren't you that guy in that movie?
Hope you're doing well, Wil.

I've had this bug starting in 0.9...

A net, by defition, is full of holes...
This reminds me of the November 4th entry (scroll down a bit) on Paul Lujan's site entitled, "Ants Ate My Hub!". Pretty funny(?)...
You're obviously not a Jedi.

What the original poster of this article failed to mention was that this affects HTML-encoded mail only. Plain vanilla ASCII e-mail is not affected.
I'm waiting for the day I see the headline, "New York Times Looks at Porn"...

1. Want to play with my Mario?
Easy: Eat less. Exercise more.
