What are those theories that competition brings prices down?
Actually, Clinton signing cable out of deregulation in 1996 is what caused these outrageous cable prices. He claimed that cable companies would compete to bring lower prices. How is there competition when there is only one provider in the area?
MS is the company who cleaned up on IBM's openness because they made DOS...
Now, let's get this straight. IBM's openness was do to the fact they built the PC with off-the-shelf parts to get it to market quickly. Not really because they wanted to be open (ask them about what they thought of Compaq clones in the late 80s). Bill came along and saw this stupidity and raped IBM.
Apple is playing smart (with Bill breathing down its neck).
"Aliens attack the world" has been done sooooo many times that Burton knew the only orginal slant was parody.

Read your own link. Atari was sold by Time Warner in 1984 right after the crash.
Atari could have kept claim on the industry if the Tramiels didn't shelf the "ready-to-go" Atari 7800 in 1984 to solely make computers. They put the 7800 back on the market in 1986 after they saw the NES selling well.
We have: 1. Little 10 year old boy shot going to school by warring drug gangs in a turf battle. 2. City that lied about the fire death of an infant 6 years ago and the mother finds the child alive in the hands of another woman! 3. Man growing 30 pot plants in a tiny row home. 4. Daily home invasions. 5. Youths ganging up on pedestrians. 6. You name it.
Society as a whole is going into the crapper. You can't move away from that.
When you have a "closed system" such as the XBox 2, it is much easier to tweek parts of an OS for speed (or make special compensations). G5 VPC with support for one 3D chipset should be more than adequate for Xbox gen 1 emulation.
The reason I love Sega's games are that they are easy to play but difficult to master. Virtua Fighter, Jet Set (Grind), Virtua Cop, et al. are simple games with great gameplay and depth. But somehow, Sega's software still fails to sell.
One of the main reasons I went to the arcade when I was a kid was that the home console versions of arcade games weren't as good. Yes, I owned Ms. Pac-man for Atari 2600, but it didn't come close to the arcade version. That's why I still came to the arcade to play.
Microsoft signs DRM agreement with Disney for content distribution. There have been grumblings that some Disney board members would like to see Steve Jobs as CEO (instead of Eisner). Microsoft would hate to deal with Jobs or doesn't want Disney to switch to an Apple based DRM solution. Microsoft has been a long time investor in Comcast. M$ leans on Comcast to buy Disney and cut Jobs out of the picture.
1. Fixed the rope pulling the droid (when Luke was looking for Artoo). 2. Remove the stormtrooper hitting his head on the overhang. 3. Updating the computer simulation of the Death Star attack plan. 4. Fixed the scene where look calls Leia "Carrie" after destroying the Death Star.
The whole "Bring my Shuttle" scene where they show Vader actually walking out to the shuttle and stepping off in the Star Destroyer (using a edited out scene from Jedi) was utterly useless. When I was 10 (and saw ESB in the theaters), I understood that he went to the ship. I didn't have to see it.
It's a bit on the slow side. Fair enough?

The only April fool is you:
It's available at Amazon
If this isn't a glowing endorsement for a revamped orphange system, I don't know that is.
Hey, Hey, Hey...
Links 2004 is loved by many (including me).
Yes, I know the story. I just gave the very abridged version for sake of brevity.

I think it's more like G5s and iMacs are too overpriced.
The SuperDrive iMac is $1800. The low end G5 is also $1800 (before you even touch a display). Too expensive.
Most consumers won't pay those prices anymore (especially in a sucky economy).
As I clutch my PowerBook G4 1Ghz praying for the day of a reasonably priced G5 laptop...
I'll take "Mars Attacks" any day.
"Aliens attack the world" has been done sooooo many times that Burton knew the only orginal slant was parody.

Hesitation is what hurt Atari.
I have a P Series Lifebook. Best little PC I ever owned!
The use of "Snoogans" shows how lame you really are.
You can not apprehend / arrest any Slashdot member.
Our little insurance policy...
Here in Philadelphia, PA USA...

Don't be such an AIM hater.
Beg to differ...
Nolan concieved Pong in '72. Maybe you are referring to home Pong. But, that was 1975.
Maybe you just have a problem with facts (and Japanese gaming concerns).
Agreed. I'm saving. If things look bad, I'm going into nursing.
I got a (computer) science degree from Drexel university. The nursing shcool can't be harder than that.
I don't mind taking care of people. I help a relative with that now anyway.
Then why is Sega dying?
The reason I love Sega's games are that they are easy to play but difficult to master. Virtua Fighter, Jet Set (Grind), Virtua Cop, et al. are simple games with great gameplay and depth. But somehow, Sega's software still fails to sell.
There's more to this than just gameplay.

Pardon me, but Disney IS a large corporation. And, has done quite a bit of swallowing itself.
Let's go back to the "Love Bug" and "Apple Dumpling Gang" days, please
Face it Disney hasn't been "Disney" for close to 20 years. So, it really doesn't matter...
Try this one for size...

You think in the redo of IV they would have:

Yes, the same mentality that steals games in the first place...
