of getting some hydrogen! Surely it would be more efficient to use the electricity from the wave power and send it to people's homes rather than using it to electrolyse the water into hydrogen, then burning the hydrogen?
When I go to see a film I try to sit as far away from noisy people as possible - so it obviously varies from cinema to cinema. Also it is possible to mute the speakers on a laptop.
They going to ban crunchy popcorn eating, groups of girls whispering and giggling, coughing and everything else too? I mean what harm is a laptop - although if you were clicking the keys throughout the quiet parts of the films I can see how it would get annoying.
"Not to mention the fact that it's pretty damn hard to buy a PC from a major dealer that doesn't include Windows in the price." - damn near impossible short of building your own PC from component parts!
"they think Microsoft will actually comply this time" - if the DoJ ever think this they are more naive than anyone gives them credit for!
Looks like Sun have taken to heart the phrase "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em". Wouldn't using Linux just make their products more competitive which in this era is what all tech companies want to be?
Seems the only place to run a computer without fear of eavesdropping soon will be a bank vault! Think about it - no radio waves would get out (due to its underground nature and Faraday cage) - no windows for people to watch your LEDs - in fact can anyone think of a way to bug a bank vault short of something that needs access to it - like a tape recorder?
I don't get unsolicited faxes because I didn't list a fax number. I only have two domains - one registed with Verisign & one with Nominet (who don't give out your e-mail address) - and I've never been asked by anyone other than those two to renew my domain! As to whether it's legal or not - the numbers can be easily obtained through a/whois on the domain - whether it's legal depends on the laws in your country.
Despite Q3A being a good benchmark it still isn't what people use their computer for all the time. It's best to look at a range of benchmarks for a card - or mainly at the ones for things you'll be doing most if the time to get a more rounded picture of how they perform relative to each other.
Once the price of the X-Box & the Gamecube had fallen I predicted a fall in the price of the PS2 weeks ago! Another price drop is being rumoured because people in the U.K. are being put off from buying one by the lack of available games. Also it's from an unknown in the gaming industry and people want to see if it actually gets popular - especially the ones who bought a Dreamcast and don't want to be left with a platform that's unsupported & no more games come out for a year later.
The only way it's boosting sales is by the publicity caused by it. Has the introduction of copy protection led to decreased sales of the CDs by the artist it was first tried on - no - but more people have returned the CDs saying they don't work.
The wave-power station is used to produce the electricity to electrolyse the water into hydrogen and oxygen.

This just seems to be a similar measure to Canada's tax on blank CDs.

Yes but is it wise to buy from a company you've never heard of?
Sounds like the perfect chip for spindoctors to use. :)
At least its not as based as the laws in the U.K. surrounding ISPs and privacy.

Well I hate to nit-pick back but couldn't they faint, recover and then scream?

That is a nice sticker - but what's the "Got Rice" slogan about?
If people are pestering you in an online chat - you just put them on your ignore list. Pity you can't do the same thing in real life!

Wish I could pay money to have an ad free internet - I hardly watch TV these days!
