My wife's (Japanese) mom still remembers hearing the 'rumors' that Kenedy was shot, not believeing them, only to find out it was true. I think one thing this game will proove is that it was imposible for one man to do the bodily damage that was done. It is funny/not how people 'accept' that other 'factors' were involved and go about their merry ways. I guess the majority of people don't mind that others control them which is why such things as 'salary' workers and 'reality' TV exist.
Humans are imperfect.... So why do humans excectps others humans to produce perfection? Bugs happen. When was the last time you ran to your car dealer because you had to call a tow truck?
Not saying your lying, but this story is strange. Six years ago, 1998, CD burners were still pricey, and VERY slow. Didn't your parents notice you burning all these disks? Second, what sort of moding gear did all your friends have? I heard of the chip you can stick in the back, but almost all of the mods took an operation. Porn game? There were porn games? Must have been a home brew one unless your idea of porn is PG-13. Being one who has been to Akihabara alot (including this upcoming Tuesday), most Japanese porn games are for the PC, so it must have been US or German.
...is who won. Stats just provide the secrets of how to beat you. If any profesional player is smart, they would never let their stats (weapon percentages, etc) out the door. Show up at the LAN party only known for winning, kick ass, erase the stats and walk away.
Actually Clinton did not dodge the draft, and was even enrolled in that nation wide college military program (sorry, can't think of the name..ipac? ). While he was attending oxford he repeatedly came back to the US to check up with his sergent about the draft, which because the laws changed every year, never called for him. I don't understand how someone who is signed up for the draft, kept in contact with his sergent and never got called in could be refered as a dodger?
warren leaving has been floating around the rumor bin for a while. I am suprised he didn't leave earlier. I thought Theif 3 was a pretty cool game with incredible atmosphere and playability. I played the demo of DEIW, and also thought it was crap. The people just seemed too big and bulky. Good luck to Warren, and I hope he finds his way again.
Those who develop engines know that reuse is common in large systems, especially when material that manipulates values. Crap, even I am still using some of my matrix and object management functions from the software rendering days. They are highly optimized and there is no reason to throw them away. Networking is pretty much the same no matter how you look at it. All that is different from game to game is optimization of what is sent over the wire which is dependent on the game. While the core networking might be the same, the classes that manage the data will be different.
Saying an engine is built apon an old one simply by re-use of code is ignorant.
I was really into SQG for about 4 months and had a ton of fun. I quite on a temp basis waiting for this expansion. However, these questions have yet to be answered by anyone, and I think they are important.
1) Can you fly your own ship from planet to planet and forget the reliance on other forms of transportation? I should be able to at least travel to nearby planets, especially if I have a cargo class ship.
2) Can I fly from shuttle port, or from location to location on the same planet? If I have my own ship, I should be able to travel around REALLy fast, and for free since I have a ship.
3) Am I only limited to just flying up into the immediate space and fighting? What else is there to do besides fighting? Can I board another ship? Walk around in ships?
That's actually a pretty small list compared to most MMORPG's release day missings. At least it's nothing like SWG which included a basic thing like transportation, and SPACE. In AO you could barely leave your city for the first month or two. I can live if a zone or skill isn't available yet.
American arcades need a new direction. Charging more for less gameplay time is not the solution, and is the main cause of the decline we see today (starting with Dragon's Lair). Most arcade games today to no reward better players with extended time. As mentioned, cafes are on the right track, and should be extended to 'Console Arcades', and be similar to water slide parks. $x for x minutes. $x+1 for the whole day. Have setups for teams, competitions, high scores, etc. Have them based on home games, who cares. Rental movies are the same as those bought except stores pay more for licenses, etc. Same thing should be available for console arcades.
I remember when Quake and Redneck Rampage machines were in the arcade. They BOMBED! Nobody ever played them despite the huge screen. Basically they were seats with a track ball on on arm, and a stick on the other.
I would be cool if game moderators showed up as agents. I still remember those guards appearing out of nowhere in UO when it first came out, and most of the time it was a special moderator of some sort (you could tell by the armor). But there isn't too many agents, and I think it would be a nice experience if you knew every agent had a human player behind them that you had to be careful of. I would be interested in this game purely because it is not fantasy nor SWG. When is Shadowrun MMORPG coming out anyway?
While I don't disagree that the magnitude is higher, counting games at a store is not a proper form of comparison since the amount of games is dependant on shelve space, and shelve space is dependant on store goals, promotions, business plans, etc. Even if you look at the PCs huge shelve space (which has greatly decreased in stores like Best Buy) you will see huge sections of it taken up by the same game. It's better to just look at an online catalog.
In my life, I never remember seeing such a divide and force to vote. Rappers in and making vote videos? Debate viewer count sky high? I am happy to see America, and the world, getting so involved, but there must be some reason this election seems so important. I'm scared. In my life there was scandal, cold war, war, blow job, and lastly terrorism/war/unemployment. I pine for the days where a blow job was the big news.
Tim Sweeney did a voice on the news radio in the game. So far the game is good, and it draws me back, which says something. However, the game is too dark. Not just figuratively speaking, but I am looking for a gamma adjustment on my TV. Games that simulate day and night seem to always be night, which I don't understand since naturally we stay in doors at night, and day does not go by as fast as it does in games. Why not slow down time during the day, and make it fast at night?
Or.. fight, Anakin whine, Anakin moan, get bored, watch short fight climax, post to favorite forum of how it sucks and you will not see the next movie.
I can already see this question in the game...
"How many editions of the original Star Wars were released to the public? Including VHS, DVD, LD and CED".
For those that don't have internet connections, I bet signup is just like XP. They will have a toll-free number to call, and you will get a registration key after giving them a key on the box. This key will probably be able to be used on all the local copies you instal, just like XP.
If this is not the case...well, it HAS to be the case.
Don't forget that you can buy those miniture LCD screens for GameCube and I think there is also one for PS2, and they have a higher res than a PSP. I think a GC and one of these screens is still cheaper than the projected price of a PSP. Once again I would have to say if the PSP has to be plugged in, then it should be compared to a setup like this.
You are missing the point of what portable gaming is all about. For me, the purpose of portable gaming is being able to play games without being stuck in front of a TV, or when a TV is not available (like family gatherings). So, if you are playing games in the palm of your hand, or anywhere for that matter, you want the system to be as powerful as you can get. The Gameboy, while not the first portable game unit, was the first unit that had the right combination of attributes that made it a success. Nintendo knows this balance that is needed to make a portable unit successful. Sony, once again, is putting their foot down. Were they spoiled by the PS 1's success? With many of the fan base already getting concerned over battery life, this will break the system. Which leads us to your point. If you have to plug the system in, it is no longer portable, and you might as well be playing the real PS2/3.
What type of game takes a lot of money, and everyone on staff to make? I won't be suprised if they announce a MMORPG soon. The BC project was not cancelled, just postponed, and I think they just needed more man power, and all that cash, on a bigger project.

Anyways, just curious, not criticizing.

There is no such thing as a bad vote. Surveys say only 1/10 18 year olds voted. Funny since they will be the first ones drafted.

Actaully, it was stated that Source is built from scratch.

Too bad almost all of the Ilovebees contenders will be busy with LARP today, as they usually do on Sundays.

Well, they also have other translations like color to colour, gray to grey, great to jolly good, etc. etc.
