No more Diesel car's in California. They put out too much particulate matter. You can still buy a Diesel truck if you insist on having Diesel power, but you won't be buying any new cars at the local dealer.
Why would the RFID contain information like this? All it needs is a unique reference number for the child. Associate that number with the child's entry in the attendence record. A lot simpler, you need less storage space on the RFID, and you can have a box full of them waiting around to replace lost cards because they don't need to be programmed ahead of time for each child.
Actually, stores are not supposed to accept a visa card (not sure about the others) unless it is signed on the back. I used to do what you said, but I have had stores refuse to accept my card because it was not signed.
So now I just leave it blank. No ones refused to take it, and they ask for ID more often than when I had "Ask for ID" written on the back.
Weird, weird, weird.
My parents who live in rural Oregon have one. It's got a tray that opens up and has a slot for the mail to go into. To get the mail out you need a key to open a large door on the front. Kinda looks like a miniture version of the large blue post drops that you find in the city, only small and it fits on a mailbox pole.
The Mac Mini (and all Mac's) are a relativly mainstream product intended to sells tens of thousands of units to the mass market. The MB in the review is aimed squarely at a very tiny niche market with no hope of taking advantage of the cost reductions associated with mass production.
Art for arts sake is not dead. Its alive and well in every city across the nation.
What I don't understand is why you are looking for art for arts sake on corporate radio or by corporate record labels. By definition they only care about promoting what they can sell and making a profit.
If you want art for arts sake look around the local club scene or music clubs. -f you are looking for something other that pop, take a look at college radio, NPR, and satellite radio. All 3 provide alternative to Clear Channel and their clones and NPR has been known to run art that no one wants to hear for arts sake and satellite plays tons of non-top 100 music in any genre you want.
There are also tons of Indie labels out there putting out non-corporate music.
Its not only that. Japan is a VERY expensive place to live and have horrible weather and natural disasters. Most immigrants would rather go somewhere else where cost of living is lower, conditions are better and they can send more money back to support their families.
I went to school with Jeri. Then known as JJ or Jay. He went to Dallas High School. He was a huge C64 nut, and wrote his own BBS software of which I used to help him beta test. I don't believe he ever finished it. He was the one who introduced me to the local Commodore 64 UG in Salem. His dad owned the local BP gas station, and JJ built his own race car there. He got a sex change a few years back.
It's not big deal. I just hate seeing people objectifing him and posting links to wanna be up-skirt photos. I just figure it's easier to mention he used to be a guy then it is to try and convince the people posting these things that its wrong to objectify a woman like they are doing.
And for the curious, Jeri has a live in girlfriend/wife who could probably kick the ass of the typical slashdotter.
I hate the term "podcast". Just call it what it is, MP3! There's nothing special about it that makes it any more or less suitable for playback on the iPod. It's just a MP3 designed to be listened to later.
I agree with you. I fly nearly every week, often cross country, and on the major airlines. Finding a seat with a power outlet is very rare. Generally only a hanful of seats have the ports (And they are car cigarette lighter type), and good luck knowing which seats have them before you get on. Maybe business class is different.
The California legal system is based heavily on the British system. As part of my California History class I took at University, they had a case from the gold rush days. A group of men tried to ambush anther man and steal his gold. The man being robbed, pulled out a gun and shot the robbers. He was then convicted of murder. Remember, this was during the gold rush days. Why? Because in California, you are only allowed to defend yourself if you have no other option. In this case, the court determined the man could have fled (I think he was on horse and the ambushers on foot), even though he was ambushed by armed men.
Same goes for getting in a fight. If you are assaulted (actually, battered is the correct term) in California, you can be brought up on charges for hitting back, unless you can convince the court you had no other choice.
In Texas on the other hand, it is still legal to shoot a burglar on your property, even if they are in the process of fleeing the scene.
I'm in the same boat. Ran into the same thing when I tried City of Heros. I have a busy life, so I'm lucky if I can play more than an hour at a sitting. That just doesn't work with groups as you end up spending 20 mintues getting the group together, another 10 or 15 while various people AFK or run to buy something, and then another 10 getting there. Now you don't have enough time left to do any real fighting.
When I first came to my current job, I was forced to use Outlook which automatically top posts. I got outlook quote fix, which makes makes it easier to quote in accepted "net" style. A few days later I was called in by our VP and told that I needed to start top posting like everyone else. I printed out several pages on the web where people discuss netiquette, and talk about how you should bottom post and only quote what you need to. Let's just say, I'm lucky I still have my job. I now top post on all business communications.
I'm with the original poster. If given a choice between the real world (with all of its dangers, stress, etc) or a holographic world that can take me any place I can imagine, I'm choosing the holographic world each and every time.
Here's the problem with that. Apple gives you files that have been compressed with a lossy compression method. When you burn the files to CD-R and then later rerip them (to say MP3) you end up adding more digital artifacts and losing more data. You don't end up with the same quality as the file you originally downloaded.
Always buy products at CostCo and save the receipt. They have an insane return policy that lets you return anything you buy from them for just about any reason. I've seen CostCo take back several year old *computers* and issue full refunds. They recently modified their computer return policy, but its still insane (I think its now a 6 month limit on computers).
Throw Insane Clown Posse up there. Their last album debued at number 12 on the charts, and was number 1 on the indy chart for weeks. But when was the last time any radio station anywhere other than Detroit played their music? Heck, MTV actually called the police and had their fans removed from outside TRL a few years ago because they didn't want to show them on TV, and invalidated all votes for ICP's TV friendly video that the band was pushing because ICP's managed to garner enough votes that by TRL's rules the video should be played on TV. But nope, the band doesn't have an image at MTV wants to promote (Or didn't like the fact that a band that doesn't pay them to play their videos actually got enough votes to appear on TRL), so they just invalidated the votes and had the police remove their fans.

How many superheroes CAN there be running around before it gets...boring?

Also of note is Mozilla 1.8 beat out Firefox 1.0 on every test. I thought the whole point of Firefox was that it was faster than Mozilla?
Anyone got a direct link to a .torrent?

And a semi-deviant sexual practice.

Jeri was not born female. Sorry guys. (And no this is not a joke or a troll. I'm just trying to save people from embarassing themselves more)

Jeri wasn't always a girl.
