The local krogers store put in 6 duplex lanes of self checkout registers in but people refused to use them. They now have a single lane and it gets very little use. I have used it a couple of times, but find the store lines with real huamns checking me out moves fast enough
We have been moving to dual core chips not because of the need for speed, but the software licensing cost. Several of our BIGGEST software packages license by the CPU and define a CPU as a chip, so if I can get a single chip with 2 CPU's performance I save big. We have several software package that cost $50-$90K per CPU . That gets REAL expensive real fast
Well if were splitting does that mean all those EU address space frees up? No more spam from russia and china, No more idiots in Britian selling on ebay US. No more nigerian lottery winners bugging me, no more non-english music and videos clogging the torrents.

I searched for just a handful terms in the blogsearc and was redirected to homes4sale sites more than anything else. BLOGS need to be BLOGS. We need to get rid of BLOGS from the main search or at least allow me to exclude them. To many "DEAR DIARY" I met a cute boy last night at the mall BLOGS out there for me.
There is a BIG differance between server down time and SERICE downtime. If you have enough servers you could have every server down through the day and not affect the service.
Make it a webmail system, front end a bunch of web servers with a loadshareing device (arropoint or similar). Back end it with a bunch of mail servers with NAS attached disk.
All landline calls are free assuming they are local. Long distance landline calls cost long distance fees.
Hardly true. There are still many low end landline phone plans that are pay per minute.THere is a base fee and taxes to have a phone so 0 minutes cost me $32, $32 minutes cost me $32. Not untill I use it a lot do I see cell phone rates.
i Dont see why this one would survive any better than the Toshiba Magnia SG20 Internet Appliance Server. Orginaly selling for close to $1500, now can be found $199.
There going to provide HVAC, internet and telephone for what it takes to idle the truck? When I drove, It cost about 2gal for the night of idling, Around here thats less than $3. Not much room for profit and maintance.
On top of that its not going to work well in the midwest winters. Drivers dont have another 2hours to warm up the engine when its real cold outside. So now they have to idle all night as well as pay the network fee.
