All these bugs bring back my favorite quote from that movie.
"
Elliot Carver: Mr. Jones, are we ready to release our new software?
Jones: Yes, sir. As requested, it's full of bugs, which means people will be forced to upgrade for years.
Elliot Carver: Outstanding.
"
If Microsoft and Apple knew about the bug, why left them open? Hoping that somebody would find the bug for them?
Well, somebody better start suing. That's what I hate about all these companies and government agencies that have access to all our private information. They are giving out our private information for free and the only thing that they do to help or protect us is giving away free credit monitoring for a year or 2 instead of a person life time.
By RIAA definition, we are consumers therefore we are criminals.
I love the idea. I love it so much that I think everybody who have internet should start sending me $5 a month just for me to exist so I can start suing people who did not pay.
Who actually check for all the security features that is included with the new "ID"? Every time I have to show my driver license or any form of IDs, I have never seen anybody that actually go through to make sure that my ID is fake. They just want the information from the ID.
The idea of having an ID that is hard to create a fake is nice idea, but without anybody willing to go through and check for the validity of the ID totally kill it.
I sure hope that the blu-ray consortium charges Paramount at least twice as much than Paramount get from Microsoft for defecting to HD-DVD camp. Great way to make mucho money!!!!
"4) If Blu-Ray discs are cheaper to manufacture how come movies on both formats costs the same, except for the horrible HD-DVD combo discs that are $5 more?"
Since when? This is one of reason why I like blu-ray. HD-DVD is cheaper to produce than blu-ray. That's their push. But as you pointed out, both format costs the same. Who pocketed the difference? Not the consumer, that's for sure.
I am on my 3rd 360s. 1st - bought Dec 2005 died March 2007 - BIOS update problem. 2nd - bought refurb from geeks.com in April 2007 - BIOS update problem. - EXCHANGE 3rd - Exchange for the 2nd one. Works great but the console can't read any 360s games even with the HD-DVD drive. Waiting for return.
So far I spend more money on a working 360 console...
$399 - 1st console
$325 - 2nd console
$20 - return S&H
$200 - HD-DVD drive Total $944. That's more money than what I spend on a PS3 ($599).
Am I the only one who is very disappointed with the current generation of game consoles? The problem is that every now and then you are required to upgrade the firmware/BIOS (Don't know about the Wii). The worst one of all is the Sony PS3. I am running 1.80 right now and less than a month later, Sony release 1.81 which would not make me want to endanger my pricey console. But Sony force you to upgrade to the latest version of the BIOS if you want to go to the Sony Store. I don't flash my PC BIOS that often, actually, none at all. I feel like I am paying the companies to test their system but not get paid for the work. If the upgrade failed after the warranty, I feel like that I can hear Bill Gates or CEO of Sony laughing all the way to the bank.
Where do you get your HD-DVD discs? I would like to know because everywhere I look, I see no price difference between HD-DVD and Blu-Ray discs for the same movies. For example, All the movies that come in on both format are listed at $39.95 to $39.99 (See the hyperlink from the story). If HD-DVD are cheaper to produce as everybody claims, I wonder where the savings go to? The consumers?
As for the DRM thing, both formats have their own DRM.
The only nice feature of HD-DVD format (which somebody on the internet finds out) is that you can make a "mini HD-DVD" disc from the standard DVD disc.
I guess my theory is still correct. No matter what they said about how secure your information is, there is always a back door, a hacker, or mishandled people that can defeat that security.
Can't wait for the ridiculous packages that cost thousands of dollars offer by every store (Xbox360 packages), the incredible price on EBAY(still remember PS2 going for 11000 british pounds - roughly $20,000), and the prisonner treatment by BestBuy (when I buy my Xbox360, I was escorted - I think they forget to handcup me - to a special location).
I read somewhere about a rumor that PS3 games can only be played on a single PS3. This is a part of their anti-piracy thing. So when you have 10 PS3 BlueRay Games and all of the sudden your PS3 died, so does your 10 PS3 games. If this is true, then what is there to prevent them from moving the same technology to BlueRay Player. Imagine that if you have 50 BlueRay DVDs and all of the sudden your BlueRay Player died, you are out of 50 DVDs movies. Add this with CD Rootkit problem, will certainly doom Sony.
Companies, like Sony, now a day just think about protecting their profits and their properties but do not realize who give them the profits - the consumers and their confidence.
This is the stupidest idea in the world. That would mean that if you have a Tivo, don't invite or have the following people to come to your house....
1. Baby. "Oooooo, Green thumb up button. Must press during commercial.... HEE HEE."
2. Kids. "Oh yeah, you don't raise my allowance, Take JUNK MAIL...."
3. Disgrunted neighbors and friends. "Oh yeah, you think you can get away with this, have some freebies in term of junk mail, unwanted phones and E-MAIL!!!!"
4. Pratical Jokers. "HA HA, JUNK MAIL!!!!"
5. Inquisitive minds. "Hmm, I wonder what this green thumb button do during the commercial?"
Since all ads are copyrighted and it is illegal to download copyright materials into the computer thanks to DMCA, then am I not committing a crime when I download all those ads with my web browser?
Actually, I am worry about the screeners see and somehow get the image of your wife/girlfriend/daughter naked and post them on the internet. Don't underestimate the power of a screener.
Things like this make me wanting to start a company that charge people by the hour to help them fix their computer. Let's see.
30+ minutes (depending on the products) to install a Microsoft product.
30+ minutes to activate that product.
30+ to just update the product.
We are talking at least 2 hours per product. Typical rate for that is around $90 per hour = $180 per Microsoft Product installation. Thanks Microsoft.
Unfortunately, the key word is YOU. If your child was the one who is wearing the headphone, you won't be hearing what is coming from the headphone going to your children.

I wish they are unlock like the rest of the world. Oh well.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

I believe him, since I will be using the PS3 mostly to watch movies and run emulated PS1 and 2 games....
I guess my theory is still correct. No matter what they said about how secure your information is, there is always a back door, a hacker, or mishandled people that can defeat that security.
$$$ - what do you expect?
That's the problem when they use JPEG, instead of RAW.
What do you think should be original? It is after all PS3 = 3rd version of PS.

I just love Season 5 where nothing happens.

Yes they did, but I think this is due to the tiny 32MB of RAM that the PS2 has.
I wonder what the memory for the next gen console like? I would prefer a minimum of 1GB. But of course, I am the king of wishful thinking.
