    Console games would be fine if the controlls didn't suck! Give me a mouse-and-keyboard controll for FPS cames rather than some thumbpad crap.

    Plus, in their current forms, you really can't massively network like PCs can. Yes, that can change with more memory and more hard drive and better networking, but I still think we're at least 2 generations from seeing that.

    I find it more interesting the idea of a new PoE standard that will provide more power. Of course, those of us that have invested millions in the current PoE "standard" for VoIP and wireless will need to forklift everything.

    GoDaddy upsells all of their domains with options for SSL certs, privacy options, web hosting, email hosting, etc etc etc.

    Their revenues are much more than just domain registrations.

    Since the messages may be valuable (although probably are not), shouldn't it be a simple matter to claim they are part of the estate and get a TRO and be done with it?

    After all, the copyright is held by the decedant, so wouldn't that material value pass to his heirs?

    Doesn't the federal "CAN SPAM" act prevent state laws from taking effect? I thought that was one of the main provisions that kept the new California law (at the time) from happening.

    Avici terrabit routers have been "combinable" for several years.

    Expensive, yes. tiny market share, yes. But they have been combinable.

    And if this new router "works" as well as their other routers, we're doomed.

    CAN-SPAM is simply an enabling law.

    As of last Friday at least, clicking on the "Download Free Player" would only take you to their store, which had no links to the actual free player (wanted it for http://www.airamericaradio.com).

    My collection is a little over 240GB in a nice RAID5 linux server on my LAN all sorted subdirectories by:

    Genre:Artist:Album:Track# - SongName.mp3

    99% of it ripped from my CDs too.

    I currently use an Archos 20GB MP3 player in the car, but that is only USB 1 and the Nicads last about an hour at best, so it's time to evolve to the NextGen models.

    Does it require ID3 tags to play and navigate directories of MP3s like the iPOD? Or can I just copy over an artist/album/tracks sorted directory structure and navigate it that way?

    The BH router will inject /32 into your internal routing table (we use OSPF) of those IPs that you want to block. At best, you might inject a couple hundred routes into the network. If you have heavy OSPF summarization, then things might not work where you summarize between areas.

    uRPF was originally designed to prevent IP spoofing by attaching it to edge interfaces. It can then be crowbared with the blackhole system to also drop traffic to and from a specific IP.

    Use a blackhole routing system instead of ACLs. easier to manage and because it uses uRPF to do the drops, it's very hardware friendly. I posted a summary on NANOG about two weeks ago how I did this at the University of Wisconsin.

    And what if you don't have ID3 tags? You're fucked. All mu stuff is sorted by subdirectories, not by ID3 tags.

    iPod is useless unless I plow through my 200GB collection and I have other life to live.
