Ubuntu Of course Ubuntu has a Eee flavor of the kernel, I chose to go a full blown Hardy Heron install on my netbook. I was given mine by a friend who was gonna throw it away. I removed the Xandros that was on it and installed Ubuntu and other than a bit of fun hacking around with it, it's quite useless other than using the terminal. Firefox on the web with it is crap, no memory whatsoever so if you have more than 1 tab open it takes forever to do anything. Forget about compiling something while websurfing cause that won't happen. My advice to people thinking about getting these, for the price if you double it, you get a pretty kick ass laptop these days. Go for the laptop, more power, more space, more ram, more CPU, more functional!

Search people and luggage getting on an aircraft.

Search them for what? A bomb, a gun?

All these checks will they stop the bomb placed on the aircraft by the worker on the tarmac? Will they stop a pilot from crashing a plane cause terrorists have his family and will kill them if he doesn't? Will it stop a gun from getting on board?

Yeah I know alot of these scenarios are far fetched, about as far fetched as our need for a TSA, or for scanners for us to board a plane. Where will it stop? A full body scan to get into your local Starbucks?

Sound ridiculous? If it does, then that's about how ridiculous it sounds to have scanners at airports.

No matter the checks, the security, or what have you, people that wanted to hi-jack planes have always found ways, and always will.
