"According to our analysis of most recent government data, the demographic information regarding those who have wireless-only service indicates that young, single people living in urban areas are those most likely to have cut the cord."-Insight Research

Doesn't it seem to you that "young, single people living in urban areas" are very likely to be internet users? Six percent missing from the sample could seriously skew the results. Political polls are also skewed due to the younger generation not being surveyed. It'd be interesting to see if they're trying to compensate for that lack of available sample. I tried to stick around for a while, but even though there were no other customers, I had an extremely hard time getting anyone to talk to me. These weren't high-school kids in a storefront, mind you.

Wow, this is EXACTLY the same treatment I got when I went into our local camera shop a few years ago. Only two guys in the store, obviously one was a managing partner or owner of the place and the other wasn't a customer. Couldn't be bothered to talk to me even about buying a high speed CF card.

Even though I was looking to spend about a grand, I left. Went to Best Buy down the street and spent my money. I felt like the place was a front for the mob or something where they don't need sales because the store's not really there for that.

Small stores are only as good as the people running them. It's just that it's harder for them to run a dozen storefronts IRL than it is online(not that it doesn't happen as others here have mentioned.)

    It gets you:
    *12.7 megapixels.
*Very high light sensitivity. (ISO 3200 which is about eight better times your average digicam.)
*Low noise(It will look cleaner at ISO 3200 than your average camera at ISO 400.)
*Fast shutter speeds(1/8000th of a second.)
*Interchangable lenses(Let's see you do that for less than $600 new.)
*Filters, polarizers, hoods, and diopters for those lenses.
*Full 35mm size CMOS sensor(for true wide angle shots(think 7mm.)
*Start-up time less than 1/3rd of a second(Your average digicam has about 3-7 seconds start-up.)
    *Pro quality and strength flashes.
*Ability to slave multiple flashes(think portrait studio.)
*Ability to control the exposure for HOURS if needed(I've done some neat stuff with long exposures.)
    *Remote shutter control.
    *Underwater housing.
*Fast focus-to-shot(near instant, better than the half second or more some digicams take.)
    *Focus and track moving subjects
*More focus and light metering options(Get that shot right the first time.)
*Shoot 3 frames per second for 60 frames(See the dust fly off the baseball when it's hit.)

I could go on and on. This type of camera is overkill for your average mom wanting to take pictures at Christmas. It's a real tool in the hands of a creative person.

You lose due to the jury/judge deciding that it wasn't a mistake, but rather a known standard complication...yadda yadda. Now you owe the dentist another $100,000. The card system is one of the things I am really enjoying about it. It's so radically diferent that it's going to be a turn off for a good number of people I'm sure. It gets better when you have a larger selection of cards. Balancing your deck for each area becomes more important later on.

I really appreciate the option to retry boss monsters without having to go back to a save point. If you fail against a boss(I did lose once), you can retry. If you do, you don't get thrown back in to the wolves. They let you change characters and remix your decks. Thus, if you're smart, you probably won't lose the second time around.

There are some issues I have with the game too. For example, controls. There are many instances where using the digital pad is much more responsive(battle especially). However, there isn't much consistancy when you can use the Dpad and when you must use the analog stick. I also have a tendancy to out read the text speed in the game, so I have to press A to make the text block fill, and A to advance. This results in a LOT of button pressing for me since on occasion I press A one time too many and I have to go through the whole conversation again. I wish they set the B button to cancel the conversation like it cancels other things.

This isn't the only game to suffer from this sort of thing, but it's especially noticable for me since it's been a while since I'd played a game for 52 hours and still not have reached the end. I've only found about 10% of the special card combos(partly because I'm focusing on the storyline). I will probably play it again sometime and do the side quests. This is one game that's 50+ hours WITHOUT having to do all the useless stuff.

FF IV is my favorite game of all time, even more so than VI.

When I first picked up FFVII to play, boy was I disappointed. It seemed to me that the 3d characters on the 2d bakgrounds didn't match each other at all. The 3d characters didn't have the expressiveness or "detail" that I always pictured in my imagination. After 17 hours in that oppressively dark city I was beginning to wonder if everything too place there. I was about to give up. Thankfully it did get better. Although...killing a character in a game which really didn't kill anyone before...well that's a debate in itself.

I feel that disparity has been resolved with modern pre-rendered RPGs. Baten Kaitos has some absolutely stunning 2d pre-rendered backgrounds(just turn off the voices in that game, for your own sake). The characters in Baten Kaitos are unusual for the most part. There are a couple of typical hero types, but you also have an asshole, a murderer, and a wimpy goody-two-shoes. The characters definately aren't your average.

People will go to the local EB Games, then Best Buy, then Gamestop that each had twenty non-pre-order units for sale and see that there aren't any and give up saying "OMG! It's sold out everywhere!" They won't go to Target and Walmart because they're not thinking of them as Games and Electronics stores.

The Walmart I was in NEVER ran out of PSPs and Target didn't run out for a month. I suggest people try shopping something other than specialty stores if they actually want one.

I'm not making a comment on one system versus another here. I'm just trying to say that people in Europe are a completely different market from the US. They've been itching to get this for a long while, plus it had more games available than launch any other location, plus people had time to save up their £ AFTER deciding which system they wanted to try.
