    Two thoughts on this:

If cell phones make people stupid while they're driving, what will this do?

Also, if the RIAA ever wins over the government and makes P2P illegal, there could be mobile P2P... Wow, that would be fun... Car chases over 11 k/s...

Hey, has slashdot been lagging for any of you? It has been really slow for me... I mean, I know good things come with time, but isn't this going a bit far?

Also, while they are a cult, they are more athiestic than anything. They claim that aliens put humans on earth, not any diety. So yeah... And we know all about alien worshipper cults. Special punch, anyone?

For example, my ISP wires hubs to every block with at least one user, no matter how many users there are on the block, and it's fiber optics and stuff, which seems to have a lot of problems during severe windstorms (I live in the northwest, so yeah...) But anyhow, when do you factor in the money they lose on stuff like that?

I saw this movie in my soc 110 class that was called "Crisis in masculinity" but I forget the rest of the name. Anyhow, it talked about how violence is cheap to do (in movies at least) and that's why people are so initiated into it. Then video games started picking it up, and started having you kill monsters/people instead of solving puzzles or whatever. I for one kinda miss the old games where you didn't have to kill everything that moves, but figure out puzzles.

But back to the topic, kids will see violence in any scenario. imoho, the best thing for the parents to do is watch it with the kids. Put it all into context, and explain that this stuff is wrong, etc. etc. Not enough of that is going on these days sadly. But it is one of the best things a parent can do.

The Recording industry is ridiculous. It takes a few cents to made a cd, (My dad worked in the CD production biz.) and they sell it for how much? $20 a pop. I'm not gonna pay that much to hear a few songs that I like, and a few songs that I don't like at all.

Also, what about the radio? You can easily put a recorder next to your radio and copy songs onto a tape/cd/hard drive that way. I'm suprised people don't do that. I did for a while. Why havn't they gotten on the radio for that? Oh, the radio pays the RIAA to use it's music. Well, somebody pays the money to buy a CD, and transferrs it onto the net, and distributes it.
