  2. Impractical on 7 Megapixel Camera Phone · · Score: 1

I'm not satisfied that they've got the 'phone' right, yet. I mean, seriously, until I can make a CLEAR call, and communicate with some semblence of quality, I don't want them cramming more shit into my phone. Having one is bad enough, but that's for work purposes, mostly. I'd rather not have them try to make two devices, and fail to do a quality job with either.

Now, I will admit that I would be highly interested in a camera/phone/PDA, that can take photos, store images/information/phone clips even on an SD card, or xmit wirelessly across a network (PAN, WAN, whatever), but I think the techology is pretty far away to make a decent device that can do that.

I'd like to try HalfLife 2. I never really got much enjoyment out of the first one, gave it up after about two hours. That, and the Counterstrike community on the whole always and entirely pissed me off. That not withstanding, I'd still like to give the game a shot, but I have one grinding issue before I shell out 55$ on this. Will I be able to pop the disc in my drive, six or seven years from now, reinstall, and play? I mean, with that whole Steam validation/activation whatnot, will the game work when those servers are taken down? What if I can not access them at a later date for whatever reason.

I'm not sure high-stakes competition would be in the best interest of the world. There's no telling what might get cut in terms of safety measures or operation protocol just to save some time here or there. Ever heard the phrase 'haste makes waste'? I don't want to be wasted because some schmuck neglected to properly reinforce this or that or there was no emergency backup to one system or another.

We need less splintering overall. We, as a globe, need to start doing things together so we can eventually move beyond our planet. Until we can cooperate together, we can never hope to accomplish that.

I believe my university, within the last few days, has opted to block the BitTorrent tracker ports, due to an extremely high volume of contraband moving across that channel. I'm disappointed, mostly because I rely on torrents for my linux distribution ISOs, and game demos, among other things. I'm also disappointed because this ILoveBees DVD is a completely legally downloadable media. When downloading the World of Warcraft open beta client yesterday, my traffic was absolutely horrible.
